The California “Motor Voter” Law Will Allow Illegal Aliens To Vote
A California state bill was just signed in to law by Gov. Jerry Brown, that will register and allow illegal aliens to vote in US Elections. The New Motor Voter Act (A.B.1461) that is now law in California, automatically registers residents of California to vote at the DMV. According to the law and a report by the Washington Times, “The New Motor Voter Act automatically registers to vote all eligible voters when they obtain or renew their drivers licenses at the Department of Motor Vehicles instead of requiring them to fill out a form.”
“The goal is to ease barriers to voting, but election-integrity advocates warn that the measure could inadvertently add millions of illegal voters to the rolls given that California allows undocumented aliens to obtain drivers licenses.” California state officials are praising the law and Alex Padilla, California’s Secretary of State says, “Citizens should not be required to opt in to their fundamental right to vote. We do not have to opt in to other rights, such as free speech or due process. The right to vote should be no different.” State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez from San Diego said, “This bill will lead to millions more registered California voters, which means more people we can talk to.”

Seems to me like a very slippery slope. California reps state that illegal aliens who request a special permission license are granted them through a separate system. As I am not from California I could not know what that looks or feels like, but the following caveat found in the bill seems to have been written with an automatic safety valve for anyone (illegal) caught abusing the system.
"2269. If a person who is ineligible to vote becomes registered to vote pursuant to this chapter and votes or attempts to vote in an election held after the effective date of the person’s registration, that person shall be presumed to have acted with official authorization and shall not be guilty of fraudulently voting or attempting to vote pursuant to Section 18560, unless that person willfully votes or attempts to vote knowing that he or she is not entitled to vote."
So in other words, if caught illegals can cry "My Bad"?

They don't get caught because no one looks for them. On the other hand, my wife, a Republican, showed up to vote and was not on the voter list. The precinct worker said that she could sign up there and go ahead and vote. Several months later she got called and was asked to explain why she was registered twice. She was also warned that it was a crime.
That's why we moved to AZ. ;) But, fraudulent votes in CA, in a national general election, overwhelm many other fair voter states (of which there are few because of the Obama/Holder admin.).

While California's "leaders" appears to be displaying their natural inclination towards general stupidity it appears to be in contrast with voting in federal elections. Not that I have any confidence in anybody ever being prosecuted for casting illegal ballots, especially by this administration. I am sure that voter fraud doesn't place all that highly on the ICE prosecutorial discretion list.

It seems that in the granola state the DMV has replaced both INS and ICE for granting immigrants "citizenship" even if they entered the country illegally.
Alls that's required is passing parallel parking!

Maybe not. I just Skyped my son who got his CA license 12 years ago and he doesn't remember even having to parallel park at all.

Well, there you have it!
vote early
vote often
vote anywhere
...what difference at this point does it make
It's not as if California needs a bunch of dem votes in order to stem the conservative tide out there.
"...registers to vote all eligible voters when they obtain or renew their drivers licenses at the Department of Motor Vehicles instead of requiring them to fill out a form.”
<snip>This bill would require the Secretary of State and the Department of Motor Vehicles to establish the California New Motor Voter Program for the purpose of increasing opportunities for voter registration by any person who is qualified to be a voter. Under the program, after the Secretary of State certifies that certain enumerated conditions are satisfied, the Department of Motor Vehicles would be required to electronically provide to the Secretary of State the records of each person who is issued an original or renewal of a driver’s license or state identification card or who provides the department with a change of address, as specified. The person’s motor vehicle records would then constitute a completed affidavit of registration and the person would be registered to vote, unless the person affirmatively declined to be registered to vote during a transaction with the department, the department did not represent to the Secretary of State that the person attested that he or she meets all voter eligibility requirements, as specified, or the Secretary of State determines that the person is ineligible to vote.<snip>

sí, puedo votar
Now it requires the SoS to actively figure out whether this person is ineligible. It's a giant loophole made bigger by
shall not be guilty of fraudulently voting or attempting to vote pursuant to Section 18560, unless that person willfully votes or attempts to vote knowing that he or she is not entitled to vote.
"did you know you were ineligible to vote?
Yo no sabía

Registering to vote SHOULD NOT be automatic/painless. If you don't care enough about the political process to get off your ass and actively seek to register, I don't want you participating - because I am reasonably certain you also lack the motivation/intellect to inform yourself about the issues and the candidates and I don't want your sorry ass voting. And present a damn picture ID when you show up to vote!

How 'bout exercising one's 2nd Amendment right, Mr. Secretary? I guess that's different.

Exit polls show that nine percent of votes in the Nevada caucus were cast by people who describe themselves as Latino Americans, and Donald Trump won a plurality of their votes.
CNN reported shortly before 12:30 a.m. that Trump won 44 percent of the votes from Nevada’s GOP Latinos, despite strong competition from two Latino candidates.
“This is the wow number of the night,” said David Chalian, a CNN political expert. “It is just unbelievable,” he added.
