Pentagon Ordered to Address ‘Climate Change’

The article is real...but IMO it belongs here.

...no after dark firefights near nesting sea turtle's...the muzzle flash disorients them...light from the muzzle flash discourages females from nesting. If a female fails to nest after multiple false crawls, she will resort to less-than-optimal nesting spots or deposit her eggs in the ocean. In either case, the survival outlook for hatchlings is slim.

Muzzle flash near the shore also can cause hatchlings to become disoriented and wander inland, where they often die of dehydration or predation. Hatchlings, scientists believe, have an innate instinct that leads them (like politicians) to the brightest / shiniest direction...like monkeys on a Christmas tree...

“Mission planning and execution” must now include an assessment of the “effects of climate change on the DoD mission.”

"The Pentagon told Congress in a report last year that it “sees climate change as a present security threat, not strictly a long-term risk.”

I thought this might be a mandate to invade China and enforce cleaner production in their factories...

I REALLY like your aggressive interpretation of commander's intent.

DC logic:

Pres to DoD: "I order you to declare climate change a threat to national security."
DoD: "CSTs and FETs were invaluable in winning the war in Afghanistan, which is what we did in 2011. They were also instrumental in Petraeus' success in Iraq. Therefore women in combat arms has already been proven to work and make us better. Oh- and climate change is a threat to national security."
Pres to Congress: "Even the DoD has assessed climate change to be a threat to our national security."
<Thunderous applause from Democratic side of House>

Amen. I have often wondered why the climate change crowd doesn't spend more time exhausting life ending CO2 gasses out of their face discussing why China and India are not in the scope of the White Houses efforts. If we are truly trying to fight climate change, Al Gore would be in Beijing working out some new regulations.

I thought that was the message in all those NAVY commercials the last six years?

GLOBAL FORCE FOR GOOD.

Typical liberal approach, it's just about ideas fiscal responsibility be damned. I saw a few years ago an effort by the Navy to develop bio fuels for their fleets, here is from a more recent article:

But Mabus’ plan pushed the military into the biofuels industry at a time when a gallon of algae- or camelina-based fuel cost more than $25. In comparison, traditional fuels were about 80 percent cheaper.

As said, all the while the biggest polluters just keep pouring it out....never see anything about our pressures to confront that. We the people have plenty of money to support all these liberal approaches, clearly we do.
