"They can send whoever they want, as long as they don't want them back"
US Army Special Forces soldier & UFC Middleweight Tim Kennedy responds to some serious threats!
UFC Middleweight Tim Kennedy Has The Attention Of ISIS
Special Forces soldier and UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy’s next battle won’t be in the Octagon. Instead it will be with the FBI in a cyber showdown against ISIS.
Posting on his official Facebook page and later confirming with ArmyTimes.com, Kennedy stated that he’ll be working with the FBI regarding “credible threats” made to him by followers of ISIS.
“Just spoke with the FBI regarding some recent credible threats towards me by #ISIS,” Kennedy wrote. “They were not overly thrilled with my response… ‘Let those cowards come.'”
The Green Beret and current member of the Texas National guard told ArmyTimes.com that he typically gets five to 10 threats a day through social media.
“They said, ‘Are you aware of this stuff?’ I said, ‘Yes,'” Kennedy told ArmyTimes. “They said, ‘We think this is somewhat credible…’ Apparently a couple of them were legitimate in trying to, from what the FBI said, plan stuff.”
Kennedy is a high profile member of the military, so threats like this are likely routine for him. Kennedy served in the 7th Special Forces Group and has been deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom along with Operation Enduring Freedom.
Although he hasn’t competed since UFC 178, Kennedy has maintained an active schedule. He most recently appeared in The History Channel’s “Hunting Hitler” series and started Sheepdog Response, a group focused on teaching others to protect themselves in areas such as grappling, weapons and situational awareness.
