The Coast Guard is leading a search off the Hawaiian island of Oahu after reports that two Marine helicopters had collided.

CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports that the incident involved two CH53 helicopters, which are called "Sea Stallions." Both helicopters had six people on board. There is no information on survivors.

Prayers out. I love those helicopters. I did a lot of training with the pilots and PJ's on the Jolly Greens and Knifes at NKP back in the day...

One of my cousins was at MCAS Cherry Point and he flew those beasts for years and even spent some time at MCAS Kaneohe Bay. That's a small tight-knit community, too. Prayers out to all of those in HMH-463 and their friends and family members.

Twelve U.S. Marines missing after two military helicopters collided last week off Hawaii's Oahu island have been listed as deceased, the military said on Thursday.

Plane aiding search for missing Marines reportedly hit by green laser

A plane aiding in the search for 12 missing Marines, whose helicopters crashed off the Hawaiian island of Oahu, was reportedly hit with a laser Saturday forcing it to alter its course.

A Coast Guard spokeswoman told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that if crew members had been directly exposed to the green laser, the C-130 Hercules would’ve had to make an emergency landing and the crew would’ve been examined....
