The frauds are everywhere....... Fox News is catching up to CNN as far as credibility. Quoting from frauds and former army E-5's. Yup everyone's a terrorism "expert". At least until they are exposed as the frauds they really are.... Well done Foxnews, let's hear from some more "covert operations" specialists/experts.

This guy sounds a lot like someone I knew, now who could that be?

Fox News even did a story (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/08/30/army-green-beret-impersonator-in-maryland-gets-21-months-in-prison/) on him.

You'd think they'd learn.

He claimed to be ex-CIA and was quoted as an expert on Fox News. Prosecutors say it was a lie.

Wayne Simmons claimed to be something of an American James Bond. On his Web site and in official, government documents, he wrote that he was part of the CIA’s “outside paramilitary special operations group,” and that he spearheaded deep cover operations against some of the world’s most dangerous drug cartels and smugglers.

His claims won him frequent commenting gigs on Fox News and government contracting jobs overseas. He even wrote a novel — a spy thriller that seemed to have been drawn from his work.

But according to federal prosecutors, much of it was a lie. In an indictment unsealed Thursday, they said Simmons’s claim that he worked for the CIA for 27 years was false. He was arrested and charged with false statements, major fraud against the U.S. and wire fraud.

Don't they do any vetting of their sources?

A guy comes walking in making outrageous claims and their first thought is "let's hire this guy on as a terrorism analyst" with (apparently) no attempt to validate his credentials.

I've always wanted to fly. I wonder if they have any open pilot jobs on any of those news helicopters. "No, really, I've flown hundreds of missions...SECRET missions".

Fox news claimed they never paid him, I guess that makes them feel a little better about the whole thing.

I heard several months ago that this guy might get outed as a poser. However, I did not know that an indictment would be involved.

This is yet another reason to get your news from multiple sources.

Those days of vetting sources are "old school" and deemed to be "dumb" by today's smart, brilliant, reporters.

Who needs vetting anymore...that's dumb....

TV doesn't hire "reporters" they hire talent and entertainers. Megan Kelly is not or ever was a reporter, she a pretty mouth and "talent".

Don't be surprised to find that FNC is being infiltrated. I've seen this across the full spectrum of institutions over the years. The Sierra Club, the Chamber of Commerce, National Geographic, Scientific American, various conservative foundations, and, I believe, even the GOP.

If the real radical finds that having long hair sets up
psychological barriers to communication and organization, he cuts his hair.
If I were organizing in an orthodox Jewish community I would not walk in
there eating a ham sandwich, unless I wanted to be rejected...

As an organizer I start from where the world is, as it is, not as I would like
it to be. That we accept the world as it is does not in any sense weaken
our desire to change it into what we believe it should be—it is necessary to
begin where the world is if we are going to change it to what we think it
should be. That means working in the system.

All you have to do is pick up the phone and call the CIA and ask "Did this guy ever work for you?"

I forgot to include religious organizations:

NYT: More Students, Secular but Feeling a Call, Turn to Divinity Schools

...divinity school offers even atheists and spiritual seekers a language of moral discourse and training in congregational leadership. The traits appeal to nones [non-believers] who aspire to careers in activism, social work, chaplaincy or community organizing rather than taking to a pulpit.

Some on here can do just that.

The CIA is just your average civilians working a different job.
