Dontcha 'ya know, never go full retard! (RD Jr.)

Ultimately though, how many people in Kalifornia does this affect? I don't see Diane Frankinstine or Barberra Boxcar, or a host of other democratic hypocrites being affected by this, and the number of CCWs issued in Kalifornia would be a negligible at best, but man this had to feel good, because it's all about feeling good.

Just another reason not to spend money visiting that state.

Out of roughly 39 million people only 70,000 have CCWs.

Compare that to 826,000 active CHL holders in Texas out of a population of 27 million (2014 numbers; by the end of 2015 there will likely be over 950, 000 active CHL holders).

Interesting:

CA holders= 0.2%
TX holders= 3.0%
AZ holders= 3.7% (These are actual card holders. We are a Constitutional Carry state so no permit is needed.)

I rarely visit the Peoples Democratic Republic of Kalifornia. There is little there for me other than the occasional contract. Having carry permits from WA, UT, & AZ (and soon OR) I can carry in over 30 states. Cali, enjoy your illusion of Utopia. You sheep deserve what you voted for.

Also interesting - 2014 violent crimes per 100k population IAW FBI stats.

Tennessee
Nevada
Alaska
New Mexico
South Carolina
Delaware
Louisiana
Florida
Maryland
Oklahoma

And according to the US Census Bureau's stats, California is ranked 14, Texas is ranked 15, and Arizona is ranked 16.

^^^^^Really? Aside from the fact that you cited the Huffington Post, it is "Law Streets" analysis of FBI crime statistics. They are taking raw numbers of what they call violent crimes per 100,000 without telling the reader what they (law street) classifies as a violent crime. If you read a little bit about law street's contributors you find out they are all SJWs.

So, I think I'll take them with a pound of salt.

For all the statisticians:

https://www.fbi.gov/stats-services/crimestats/

In the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Violent crimes are defined in the UCR Program as those offenses that involve force or threat of force.

Stats and their interpolation can be pesky things.

Inre violent crime, the stats indicate there just might be more to it than how a state regulates its resident's CCW (as the case for CA, TX, and AZ, for example).

Just something to think about because I certainly have no definitive answers to it all and it doesn't look to me as if anybody else out there does, either.

Personally, I don't 'feel' the need to CCW around here, and the only two people I know who do are a bit frightening in their paranoiac explanations for why they feel a necessity for it.

MOO and YMMV - but so it goes.

Good point - probably the reason for the much higher numbers of CCWs down in Kern, Orange, and San Berdoo counties.

Interestingly, the highest number of CCWs in California are up north in Shasta county on the CA-OR border.

That's because they are red counties where the sheriff's will issue CCWs. During the Rodney King riots, my anti-gun neighbors asked if they could borrow a gun for a few days. Always happy to help a neighbor but, dang, those pesky laws that they voted for. :D

John Lott, the author of "More Guns, Less Crime," has done a substantial amount of statistical analysis on the relationship between the ownership of guns, crime and gun laws.

http://crimeresearch.org/

One example:

New Study: Over 12.8 million concealed handgun permits, last year saw by far the largest increase ever in the number of permits (http://crimeresearch.org/2015/07/new-study-over-12-8-concealed-handgun-permits-last-year-saw-by-far-the-largest-increase-ever-in-the-number-of-permits/)

The full report and abstract:

Concealed Carry Permit Holders Across the United States

Abstract:
Since President Obama’s election the number of concealed handgun permits has soared, growing from 4.6 million in 2007 to over 12.8 million this year. Among the findings in our report:

-- The number of concealed handgun permits is increasing at an ever- increasing rate. Over the past year, 1.7 million additional new permits have been issued – a 15.4% increase in just one single year. This is the largest ever single-year increase in the number of concealed handgun permits.

-- 5.2% of the total adult population has a permit.

-- Five states now have more than 10% of their adult population with concealed handgun permits.

-- In ten states, a permit is no longer required to carry in all or virtually all of the state. This is a major reason why legal carrying handguns is growing so much faster than the number of permits.

-- Since 2007, permits for women has increased by 270% and for men by 156%.

-- Some evidence suggests that permit holding by minorities is increasing more than twice as fast as for whites.

-- Between 2007 and 2014, murder rates have fallen from 5.6 to 4.2 (preliminary estimates) per 100,000. This represents a 25% drop in the murder rate at the same time that the percentage of the adult population with permits soared by 156%. Overall violent crime also fell by 25 percent over that period of time.

-- States with the largest increase in permits have seen the largest relative drops in murder rates.

-- Concealed handgun permit holders are extremely law-abiding. In Florida and Texas, permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors or felonies at one-sixth the rate that police officers are convicted.

Chicago, DC, those are just outliers. More gun laws equal safer streets. They need to make murder illegal too.
