Multiple attacks since Monday, including outside of the Yehuda/Shomron region, put this week's shenanigans at a higher tempo than.... well, whatever passed for "normal" since the end of the Second Intifada in 2005.
Anyone who's been paying attention would say that terrorism has been on the rise since Baruch Mizrachi and Shelly Dadon were murdered in separate incidents 18 months ago. The kidnapping/murder of American citizen Naftali Frenkel and two of his friends led to last year's "Operation Protective Edge" in Gaza, which did almost nothing against the PLO or Hamas in Yehuda/Shomron or among the Arab communities throughout the rest of the country.
I suspect it will only get worse until real leaders who are not afraid of the State Department, the EU or the UN dominate the Knesset.

This is A7's list of attacks so far, starting last week. The list is not comprehensive, as it does not include rioting, or rock attacks along Highway 6 near Qalqilya. I'm not going to post a link for every single attack as it happens, but I will post links like this that cover multiple incidents, for big-picture purposes. Thus far, all attacks have occurred in/near Arab neighborhoods (especially within Jerusalem) and cities (e.g. Qalqilya), and in places where Jews and Arabs mix freely (cities in the coastal plain, and in some northern places, like Afula). Note that in most of these attacks outside of the 1949 armistice line, the perpetrators carry Israeli citizenship. We are dealing with a population who want all of the privileges of citizenship, and don't give the smallest hoot about their responsibilities as citizens.

This is particularly educational, demonstrating what IDF soldiers have to deal with on a daily basis (not just in this week's violence):

Notice the people wearing blue body armor? That's the international press, always embedded among the Arabs, and making it a royal pain for the IDF to accomplish anything. They are always given advance notice when a riot or other provocation will occur, and are highly encouraged to position themselves to make the IDF's job as difficult as possible. Last week, there was an incident where two media personnel (in their distinctive blue body armor) tried to collect footage of the equipment inside of an IDF vehicle. The officer who destroyed their equipment to prevent them from collecting information on classified systems has since been punished; his battalion is pissed. These links are from that incident:

http://www.jerusalemonline.com/news/middle-east/israeli-palestinian-relations/idf-officer-gives-his-version-of-camera-breaking-incident-16180
So, when you see footage from Israel involving Arabs provoking our soldiers, especially when it's spun the other way, and originates in the "West Bank", it's probably from one of these fools.

Both attempts were defeated by security forces, so it's clear that (A) people are much more vigilant than they were in 2000, and (B) the security forces have learned and retained lessons from 2000.

This is connected to my earlier post about foreign media interfering with IDF operations. In the video from my earlier post, you can see the media recording uncomfortably close to the IDF as it disrupted a riot somewhere in the Shomron region (exact location was mentioned in that link).
This is what happens when you tolerate/ignore the presence of hostile people with cameras in the vicinity of combat operations. (Did anyone really think the media were "innocent bystanders"?)

A friend of mine was boarding a bus departing behind the #185 mentioned in the article when this occurred.
10:24pm Hero of the day Yair Ben Shabbat
Jerusalem resident Yair Ben Shabbat pulled out his nunchaku while terrorist tried to grab the rifle of a soldier he had just stabbed. Ben Shabbat then began to beat the terrorist into submission until help arrived.

It is interesting that the terrorist boarded the bus before attacking, instead of attacking people at what was surely a crowded bus stop (the nearest bus stop to the attack site is an extension of the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, and is the first stop on that route).
Re: Post #12
Initial reports suggest the terrorist got on the 185 Superbus bus, then attempted to snatch the gun from a 20 year-old soldier there after attempting first to strangle him. He was also brandishing a knife.
Seeing the commotion, the bus driver stopped immediately; the soldier and another passenger managed to overcome the terrorist, removing him from the bus.
Israel Police already stationed near the Bridge then neutralized the terrorist, shooting him dead after he grabbed the gun of one of the officers.

When you, and others who are nearly indistinguishable from you, bite the hand that feeds you.... you shouldn't be surprised when that hand gives you the finger:
http://www.jewishpress.com/news/breaking-news/tel-aviv-other-israeli-cities-ban-arab-employees-from-local-schools/2015/10/18/
Muqata already reported that Arab workers are banned from Jewish communities in the Shomron region by order of the IDF commander responsible for that area. Additionally, communities in Gush Etzion are petitioning school faculties to fire all of their Arab janitors, and replace them with Jewish labor.
Following the revelation, MK Dov Hanin (Joint Arab List) demanded that the Knesset Interior Committee hold an emergency session. According to MK Hanin, under the guise of anxiety some are promoting dangerous moves of racial segregation. MK Issawi Frej (Meretz) said that the education system, instead of acting to calm the situation is spearheading the creation of discrimination and exclusion.
MK Dov Hanin would do well to consult his party's most notorious member MK Hanin Zoabi if he's truly looking to address his constituents' problems, according to the mayor of Nazereth (http://www.timesofisrael.com/nazareth-mayor-heckles-joint-list-chief-during-tv-interview/).
Is this a heavy-handed measure? Absolutely. But then, when Arabs with Israeli citizenship openly prefer to align with the PLO, and Arabs who passed background checks (http://www.timesofisrael.com/suspected-shooter-worked-at-begin-center-vowed-to-be-thorn-in-zionist-side/) suddenly act as though they never should have received that chance (http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/201823), who can you trust?

With all the weapons caches that the IDF seems to uncover every other week, I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner.

I sincerely hope he stays away from the grieving family, after what he did at Max Steinberg's family's shiva house.
Holy sweet, Christ....LINK (http://freebeacon.com/national-security/kerry-to-mother-of-fallen-idf-soldier-hows-your-day/)
According to the Los Angeles Jewish Journal, “Kerry entered and exited the room swiftly, surrounded by men in black and refusing to take any questions from press.”
“How’s your day?” Kerry asked as he sat down. “How’s your day?” Evie [Steinberg’s mother] asked back. “My day’s going better than yours,” he said.

Here comes the third intifada. Apparently, no one learned anything from the Olso Accords.

Ditto, this, and the withdrawal from Gush Katif in 2005-- knocking down our own citizens' homes only encourages the Arabs.

EDIT - I just learned that our current defense minister published a book called The Long Short Road (http://www.amazon.com/Derech-Aruka-Ketzara-moshe-yaalon/dp/B008CV96UO/ref=sr_1_14?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1460964058&sr=1-14&refinements=p_27%3AYAALON), in which he details (among many other things) a massive intelligence failure during the Oslo years that occurred exactly because Israel trusted the PLO to police their own people. Hopefully someone will learn from history.

What's your take on the Arson Jihad?
In a nutshell, it was a massive copycat attack, based on the 2010 Mt. Carmel Fire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Carmel_forest_fire_(2010)). It's that time of year when Israel gets a strong westerly wind from across the middle east, but the weather is still dry, so it's perfect for expanding small fires into big fires.
Here is a list (https://www.reddit.com/r/Israel/comments/5eg18h/fires_updates/) of all the places attacked, and the damage done. You'll notice that many of these places are outside of Yehuda/Shomron.
37 suspects were arrested (http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/220893), the bulk of whom were Arabs with Israeli citizenship, living outside of Yehuda/Shomron (that means Israeli citizens with PLO/Hamas sympathies).
It's clear that the arsonists are refining their technique. Testimony from the Beit Meir fire (http://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel/131006-161125-watch-family-flees-fiery-inferno-in-jerusalem-hills) indicates that the arsonists deliberately set this fire to block the only road in and out of that community.
In terms of effectiveness? No one died, and disaster only brings the community together more tightly. The homes that were destroyed will be rebuilt. Forests will be re-planted with hardier vegetation (flammable pine trees that burned will be replaced with oak, etc). Even though the PLO sent their own fire trucks and crews to help fight the fires (http://www.timesofisrael.com/palestinian-authority-to-send-a-team-to-help-combat-blazes/), public perception of the PLO only grows in negativity.
On a lighter note, it was a great week for plane-spotting :D I observed CL-415 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadair_CL-415)s and Be-200 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beriev_Be-200)s flying over my home and office, in addition to Israel's own fire fighting aircraft. Many national leaders will be getting Christmas cards from PM Netanyahu (http://www.jewishpress.com/news/breaking-news/friendly-nations-send-firefighter-aircraft-to-help-israel-battle-the-flames/2016/11/24/).

Last week, Arabs on Temple Mount murdered two Israeli Druze border policemen, using weapons that they'd smuggled into the holy site.
In response, the Israeli police set up a checkpoint with metal detectors at the Lion's Gate entrance to the Temple Mount compound.
The Jordanian Waqf, who controls/maintains the al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock, are upset about the checkpoint, and, with complicity from the PLO and Hamas, have been instigating riots, ambushes, and home invasions throughout Yehuda/Shomron.
