Let's call it what it is, child rape. I'm amazed the NYT's even printed this article.

OK Army guys, you have a "openly gay leader" and now you must look the other way as children are being raped.

Makes perfect sense.

U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies
By JOSEPH GOLDSTEINSEPT. 20, 2015

KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

This angers me, really angers me, on multiple levels. To avoid devolving into a rant all I can say is "tolerance applied to evil is criminal" [Terrance Mann].

Damn it, I am having to say that far too often lately.

I like that the NYT's used "sexual abuse" instead of rape. Same as using "undocumented immigrant" instead of "illegal alien". Much less "offensive".

We went from "Be all you can be" to "Look the other way"

Hope and change.

Now tell me America isn't dead.

Edit to add: Makes you think "who" that order came from................

On February 28, 1994, Department of Defense Directive 1304.26 took effect...

...anyone that said "next thing you know, politicians will be defending child molesters" was immediately excoriated and labeled as a homophobe and a bigot.

...it was all about letting people serve their country without the threat of being persecuted and prosecuted over their private sexual habits.

...it had nothing to do with letting people behave badly or discredit "the uniform"

...anyone suggesting that it was just another example of Overtons Window being used to provide a stepping stone to using the military as a social tool for pandering to special interest groups was immediately dismissed as a right wing conspiracy nut

The radical has become sensible...
...transsexuals in the military? Are you crazy?
Well, they aren't hurting anyone, and as long as they can do their job...

The unthinkable has become acceptable...
...bacha bazi is a cultural issue, its not our business to interfere.

The acceptable has become popular...
...and is now being transformed into policy

"We told you so" really doesn't seem worth saying anymore...
...not when the folks instituting the policy have been moving the window in this direction all along.

Some of you folks will blink before you get to the end of this thread........

...see; you blinked didn't you. "I told you so"

Like I said, "I told you" so just doesn't mean the same thing when the result is predetermined to begin with.

Nothing to see here, move along....................

This article from Salon falls in line with the subject at hand

And to think some on this board said not all that long ago that pedophilia would never be condoned in the US.

Ha...
...no one has ever heard ME say that shit.

Most Americans are just too stupid to understand the concept of Overtons Window and prefer to call those that do conspiracy nuts
...or homophobes
...or Islamophobes
...or racists
...or misoginists
...or greedy

A man once ridiculed those that cling to guns and religion and antipathy...
...that same man probably pisses in his pants daily from laughing SO hard at all of the Americans that are convinced that DADT was all about letting gays serve with honor
It had nothing to do with celebrating any "cause"
It was not going to pander to transgenders
...yet he has advanced both of those agendas since he castigated those that cling to guns and religion and antpathy

He probably pisses in his pants from laughing so hard at the Americans that STILL think they can keep their doctor.

He probably pisses in his pants from laughing so hard at the Americans that think Iran's friendship is a noble pursuit.

and here we are...
...showing more loyalty to a corrupt child rapist than we show an American Solider doing what he was sent overseas to do.

...doing what all of those stupid fucking annual on-line training requirements told him was his sworn duty

hahahahahahahaha...
Well, enough ranting, I have to go slide Overtons Window a little bit farther to the left.

"duty - honor - country"
...what in the fuck do those words mean again?

A good Marine is being put through the wringer -- with his career now hanging in the balance -- for mistakenly sending a threat warning from an unclassified email account, according to supporters.

Too bad he wasn't Sec Of State.

It's made it to CNN, Breitbart and NewsOK within the last few hours. I suppose this could go in the SFC Martland threads too.

Gaining traction.

Well this will bring light to his story, but I really wonder what it will do for his QMP status.

Where American Boots Are on the Ground, American Justice Must Prevail

Yeah, right. If were to believe that we would have started with the Saudi's in 1990 or sooner. Saudi Arabia, Pakistan etc sponsor sunni terrorism, fact they rape little boys, fact they are behind the 9/11 attacks, fact they hid bin laden, shall I keep going?

The problem is that America sided with the wrong muslim tribe, sunni's are the problem shia's are easier to deal with.

Cut ties with the sunni countries ASAP or suffer more attacks. Isolate them and warn them if America is attacked again the Sunni's with pay dearly.
