Critical Incident Report posted this morning says it was a Captain performing a HAHO. He had a fouled main and spiraled down under his reserve. I guess that explains why there was so much difficulty locating him.

I'm sorry Sir, RIP.

Terrible to hear this, some of his fellow 1st Groupers are working with me right now and it has hit them pretty hard. It is terrible we are losing so many guys to this. Lets recommit ourselves to safety throughout the jump process to leave this kind of thing to freak accident like this. Everything from packing, proper fit, exit form, pulling when belly to earth and stable as possible, and canopy control. Stay safe guys!

RIP. It is times like this to bring forward in thought of the inherent danger to the guarantors of our freedom. In order to fight the fight, soldiers must train the way we fight. His premature loss will be felt by his teammates. I offer my condolence to his team.
