I can't believe they are keeping the video up on their website. I'd think they would exercise a little more decorum considering their loved ones who are waking up this morning hearing about this. Prayers out, and I hope they kill the prick:

Viewed that earlier this morning - very disturbing - I have enjoyed some time in Roanoke and nearby Salem area. That looked like a flat out execution. Prayers out for family and friends.

Agreed on all counts. Just an unbelievable situation, and very close to home.

I know it's knee-jerk, but I told my staff to be more cautious as people come into our firm. If they have a doubt...any doubt at all, let me know.

Fortunately, I have one staff member that's armed. It may be time for me to bring a firearm here as well.

Prayers out to the families affected by this absolutely horrific event.

All our schools are on lock down now as well since we are close enough to the area. Strange situation, and I agree that they are using poor decorum leaving that video up. It's still hard for me to grasp that someone got that bent out of shape and thought it was okay to vent on two people who apparently had nothing to do with his dismissal. I know that it shouldn't surprise me anymore, but sometimes the rational part of my brain won't let go.

I'm sorry for sounding so jaded, but it's always been interesting to me how much more thoroughly and tragic a murder is portrayed in the media when it involves a journalist (such as today), or as with Daniel Pearl back in 2002. Soldiers and other assorted cannon fodder always seem to be portrayed as far less of a tragedy in the news.

Totally understand and agree. I think the thing here is the shock value of seeing it happen live on TV. We (civilians) get so wrapped up in our first-world problems, but we rarely (in my case, ever) see an act of violence this graphic as it happens. When it does, at least in my case, it brings you back to reality and makes you realize the world isn't as warm and fuzzy as we've been led to believe...nor is evil that far away.

"We are in pursuit of the suspect. We know who the suspect is. We believe he is a disgruntled employee" who worked for the TV station, McAuliffe said.
"State police are in pursuit of the suspect on Interstate 64," McAuliffe said. "His arrest should be imminent."

Roanoke Times reporter Cameron Austin tweeted that the vehicle is a 2004 Silver Ford Mustang with license plate WZE-8846.

McAuliffe said authorities believe the two television station employees shot dead this morning knew the alleged shooter.

I agree. I was debating whether or not to even post it, however the method in which these particular murders were conducted separate it from most of the other active shooter situations.

As far as fellow service members who gave all, they barely get a mention in their hometowns newspapers anymore let alone broadcasted on cable networks. It's disgusting.

If it bleeds, it leads.

Even when it is their own.

Wow.

I just noticed that they have taken the video down. Fox news did as well, but CNN still has it up. Ticks... the whole bloody lot of them.

It appears that the suspect actually filmed himself walking up and shooting these people and posted it on his twitter feed.

I'll not post links here, but the feed is still up as of 10:48 CST

Makes you wonder what's next for our desensitized culture...actually following the shooter as he goes to kill his victims?

Vester Flanagan (Bryce Williams) actually posted video of the attack on his social media account. Yep, he filmed the murders WHILE HE WAS COMMITTING THEM! And then promptly posted the video to Twitter.

and I hope they kill the prick:

He's a black co-worker. They will capture him alive. Unless he shoots himself. :munchin

And taking a video of yourself committing 1st Degree murder is not a guilty plea....... ;)

I also hope they terminate him with extreme prejudice..

Odd that on his video he stands there for several seconds with the gun aimed at the reporter and neither she nor the interviewee noticed.

Wait a minute. A black man shoots three white people? When does the riot start?

He was apparently a model and a high-paid 'companion.' So, he is a gay, black male prostitute claiming racism. How long before the media portrays him as the victim?

I'm not so sure. It seems he is en route to the hospital.

What do you want to bet that this gets spun into him being unfairly shot while he had his hands in the air by a white police officer ?

Hate crime?

TRCurrent media line (incl CEO of the network who lost the reporters): His apparent history of trying to foster people saying things that would let him file discrimination lawsuits (at least 2 of which have been dismissed) and his "manifesto" indicate the church shooting in Charleston was a tipping point for him; "discriminated against 'cause I'm a black gay man" kinda thing. So... kill white people from the station where he'd been fired.

Former AG Holder's guidance to DoJ was that you can't have a victim of a hate crime unless they were "...a member of a historically disadvantaged class." Ergo, no hate crime, no racism involved if you're a white victim.

The media certainly seemed to recover from their Monday morning meltdown over the Asian stockmarket.

First of all, my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.

Second, my generation for some reason felt the need to post the video the shooter took from his cell phone all over social media. Why do they feel the need to watch 2 people being murdered?!? I cannot express my outrage and frustration over this.

Third, the media and politicians are calling for sticker gun control. Clinton and Obama are already using this as a platform for gun control. I do not know how many times I have to fucking scream it, but "YOU CANNOT FIX CRAZY!" This country faces a mental health problem, yet politicians do not want to point out the elephant in the room. Guns are not the problem, PERIOD.

Fourth, Bryce Williams aka Vester L. Flanagan manifesto (http://national.suntimes.com/national-world-news/7/72/1713969/what-we-know-vester-flanagan-bryce-williams/) is not only racist, but suffers from an incredible mental disorder. The news media needs to call it like it is, this was a racist motivated shooting.

Owing to the democrat demographic this POS possessed I propose the following.
A 30 day waiting period before being allowed to vote democrat. During this 30 day "cooling off" waiting period, the individual must undergo a battery of psychological testing and a background check that would rival a top secret clearance investigation.

As the majority, if not all of the mass shooters were linked with the democrats in one way or another. They are proving to be almost as dangerous as isis.

I found the following to be very accurate and thought provoking:

It is true that statistical outliers should not be used to club entire movements into submission. But leftists protesting at the linkage between Williams and their favored political causes have no ground on which to stand – they consistently blame conservatives for outlier events with no statistical basis. Moreover, Williams’ violence is part of a larger trend, not of black men killing white people (that still happens disproportionately, but the numbers are down), but of black men using supposed American racism as a rationale for violence more generally, and of gay people using supposed American homophobia as a rationale for violation of others’ rights.

Some in the media are actually going beyond delinking Williams from his politics – they’re defending Williams’ perverse worldview, questioning whether evil, racist, homophobic America created him. Columnist WonderWomanist at Gawker wrote, “I can understand him being frustrated with racial discrimination at his job but it was not worth throwing his life over… RIP to the victims even though they may have been racist.”

Kay Steiger at ThinkProgress took Williams’ self-serving narrative at face value: “One part of the document included the phrase ‘Suicide Note for Friends and Family’ and detailed discrimination he experienced as a gay, black man.”

But most of the the media will swivel to gun control, following the lead of the White House and Hillary Clinton, both of whom called for heavier gun control laws – even as both push for the release of criminals from prisons, a crackdown on law enforcement, and a racially divisive narrative of the country pitting black against white, all for political gain.

All of these policies will do nothing to stop Bryce Williamses — in fact, they will make Bryce Williamses more common. Teaching Americans that they aren’t victims would be a great way of battling evil – most victims aren’t evil, but virtually all evil people think they are victims, and thus justify their violence. But teaching Americans that they aren’t victims would undercut the Democratic message that all minorities are victims, and thus require bigger government. And that message, and its attendant political success, must take precedence over the building of a more inclusive, more understanding country.

Furthermore, this incident has served to bring to very clear focus the deep seated racism present in activist who are out there still fanning the flames in Fergason and racing to the scene of each and every white on black police shooting in order to incite civil unrest and further the divide between black, white, law and disorder.

Not if it's black on white, not a hate crime.

And I agree with the White House on this one, we need to keep guns out of the hands of liberal gays.......
