I enjoyed looking at them and the various Russian equipment being shown. The soldiers could have been from any country, doing what soldiers do in a combat zone. :munchin

There are Russian websites that have these kinds of photos and forums like these where former soldiers and police officers, who participated in that ongoing conflict, talk about their experiences. I would give the websites out but I don't think I'm allowed because of rules on this forum.

No thoughts or comments. I agree, however, that a Grunt is a Grunt is a Grunt.

I just thought it was interesting to see their different weapons and gear. The 7.62 x 39mm seems to be still holding out strong there. Not many of the newer AK variants either. Clothing seems to be developed in a lot of different camo patterns. It would be interesting to see who is wearing what if anybody here knows for certain?

It's all very mix and match with them. The Flora pattern is the most common regular army pattern, then the more special units such as VDV, Alfa, Vityaz, et el, have some more exotic stuff like the Kamysh pattern for example. Often it's a case of what the storeman's got for you.

www.russiancombatgear.com to see all the different things. Hope that's not counted as advertising- it's only intended as a reference.

I have a set of Russian BDU's and find them to be well made except for the buttons. They are week and need to be resowed.
