Current 3D printers can use carbon fiber and resin to make parts that are stronger than those made of 6061 T-6 aluminum. BATF will start a PR campaign holding up a stripped lower and compare it to an upper draped with rails. "It's all the gun."
I believe that folks who manufacture 3D lowers and then call a press conference to revel in the publicity are analogous to the idiots who open-carry AKs into Starbucks-- they're well within their rights but harmful to my second amendment rights.
