John Wick...great movie. Did the Comcast On Demand thing and I watched it twice in a row. It stars Keanu Reeves but he doesn't talk, so no worries. It does have some technical flaws. For instance, guns run dry and have to be reloaded, cars don't blow up in flames when they get in a collision, and getting punched in the face hurts. Other than that, great movie. Great music, great cinematography, great supporting cast. Plus the New York Time review slams it as appealing to Neaderthals. I counted 28 head shots but I could be wrong.

The brief cop scene is classic.

Both John Wick and Denzel's Equalizer were pretty good flicks.

Really gave Tom Cruise's Collateral a run for his money

Both 'The Equalizer' and 'John Wick' deal with the Russian mob. Why do we let these mobs take root? Besides the corruption and pay-offs to congressmen, county and city officials of course.

I really liked John Wick. Enough that I bought it after seeing it on Netflix. I tell everyone that if they liked Wick, they'll probably like Sicario too. That is a damn good movie, especially if you like Benicio del Toro.

I get the feeling that the Bandits of the Year are carefully selected so as to avoid the need to depict who the real bandits are. Hollywood has its own politically correct standards and it sticks to these fairly strictly. Even white South Africans have had their brief moment of Hollywood infamy recently.

Was surprised to see that it was not a Michael Mann film. Here's the wiki on one of the directors, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Stahelski. He, and the uncredited codirector are both experienced stuntmen. Stahelski replaced Brandon Lee after his tragic death.

I'm guessing you sure as hell didn't like Lethal Weapon 2

And so will they remain while they continue to sport a mullet...and come from Australia.

If you liked John Wick and The Equalizer, check out Man On Fire (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328107/) - probably one of my most favorite Denzel movies.

Man on Fire is a pretty strong movie, but seems to crawl in the early part. John Wick is more about semi-realistic action from beginning to end.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the "gun kata" from equilibrium yet...

Not at all. We are so used to being the polecats (whatever they might be) of the world that getting any attention is great. Charles Theron, one of our pretty little things only got an Oscar because she acted the part of an extremely unattractive serial murderess. Go Charlene.

Well.... John Wick 2 is 3gun and TTI product placement meet Hollywood:D
When's the last time you see movies with text-book pistol and rifle press check, tac reload, reload with retention, dry shotgun IAD, and so on.

Very entertaining, I must say. Even though I hate how it perpetuates the "silent" suppressor myth. Turn off your higher brain function and you will enjoy it immensely

Strong teacher. Butler has a few videos of getting gun-nothings up to speed.

I blame this site for instilling a discriminating standard :D.
So there I was back in 2004 perusing every marksmanship posts by TS, TR, NDD, Peregrino, etc. Basically I learned that if your sidearm hits are not all touching at 7yards, you ain't ****

So I thought if one wears the uniform, surely one knows how to shoot.
Wrong.
I then joined the army and thought surely if one is 11B and shooting is his job, he knows how to do it well.
Wrong.
Then I got to Benning and Bragg and thought surely if your left shoulder says Ranger and/or SF and you attend all these HSLD shooting schools, you got the fundamentals down pat.
Wrong.....the schools provide tools, not skills. The user still needs to use the tools to develop skills.

Fast forward many years later and I found the exception are CIF and CAG....(also AMU, P100, distinguished pistol/rifle or anyone who spent own $$$,money, and effort to hone the skill)
I helped one of the previous B/2/3 commanders train to shoot into slot (170 min IIRC). After SFARTEC and missions, I compared notes with him and his SGM. Man, did he shoot extremely well. I hope he still maintains the skill in seminary.

Based on the rave reviews here, I saw wick 1 last night and went to see the second today in the theatre.

I agree, very entertaining. Also agree the entire shootout in Rome was essentially a 3-gun advertisement. Well done.

Saw it on Friday and thought the same thing. I enjoyed the whole gun-fight/fist fight to get his car back the best I think.

The accents were very very offensive.

True story. There's even well-documented evidence (http://www.wideopencountry.com/10-worst-southern-accents-famous-films/)of such transgressions perpetrated against our fellow Southerners. In Hollywood, they think a southern gal from southeast Louisiana sounds the same as a mountain girl from east TN.

I can speak from personal experience that it is NEVER a good idea to get the two accents confused when you're on the line with one of them and think you've switched over to the other one to discuss how great she looked the previous weekend when you drove through New Orleans and saw her. The Osborne Brothers weren't lying when they said those mtn girls were sweet as soda pop, but half bear and the other half cat. Of course, I was 19 at the time and was still figuring things out. Hollywood still hasn't, though.
