The guys at Mackall must be frezzin' their ass off tonight. Here at Bragg light rain and COLD!! Kind of reminds me of a cold Saturday night in Pisgah on the side of Table Rock mountain during Branch FTX.

No Phase I in session, I don't think there is any Phase II or IV students out either.

Phase VI/SERE should be done right now as well, and all other students should have been released for Christmas Break already.

Yea, yea, yea-but is it a dry heat? Nice and crisp here this morning. A dry -3 with a -9 this evening. Sort of that tooth cracking cold where that first breath freezes you nostrils together and mkes your eyes tear. Had a little snow shower this morning.

Well good for you ;) It's so cold here I had to turn the air-conditioner off. However, it is supposed to warm up again tomorrow - mid-70s.

Of course we are spending Christmas at the coldest place on Earth. Chicago then North end of Lake Winnabago up in Wisconsin. I can't believe I'm leaving Miami for Christmas in the frozen north. Whine, bitch, complain...

C...if you're going to be here a couple days let me know, maybe we can meet for a drink depending on the schedules.

I'll drive to you though, wouldn't want to see you wind up in Oklahoma or some place like that. :D

You know, Sir, someone really should go outside and sweep all of that snow off of the roof. :D

Who is shovelling your drive? :munchin

I thought the reason there was no one at Selection this week was because they were up north shoveling the Colonel's drive.

Funny that you should ask that. Yesterday I got a frantic call from my daughter in law who is in DC. She called because my son made arrangements by calling the town manager up here to get a recommendation for a local to come shovel off my roof when it really gets deep-something I usually have to do about twice a winter. The daughter in law realized that no one had told either my wife or I and she was concerned that if this individual showed up unannounced and was walking around the house he might get shot. Which of course would have negated the whole shoveling the roof deal. Anyway, the son set it up for him to come by when I need him four times over the winter-that's a great xmas present. I was wondering how I was going to get that wheel chair up the ladder :D

I do have someone plow my drive for me as it is over 500 feet long. He was here today and dropped in with a couple of sets of deer antlers which had been dropped in his backyard. We both feed the critters in the winter and as he lives the next ridge line over we get the same deer. He's a good guy and we made arrangements with him to use the snowblower for the dogs area for the big storms so they have an area to run.

You have no idea how damn difficult it is for me to ask anyone to do anything for me, especially all the things I sort of like doing for myself. I will be glad when I am back on my feet, and hopefully that will be soon because we have a major expansion of the house planned for May.

Temperature now -7 and falling.

Sounds great! The guy who actually passed Land Nav will be doing the driving though so Oklamhoma is safe from me this trip. ;)

Table Rock is quite beautiful this time of year. Before leaving for OSUT my training schedule had me rucking up Hwy 11 past the entrance to the Park. Great area.

Its pretty cold here at the Ph-1A compound as well.

Well, I don't know what class/es may be out there. But, I do remember my time there, in the olderish days. I finished the last phase or SF Advanced Enlisted Course the 26th of Nov, '69. We were all wet cold and hungry... but WTF. We were the entire time we were out there. It's weird being in here, reading posts and jogging my memory back to the smaller details after 35 or so years. Ummmm still remember finishing that last phase.... wiped out.

BUT!!!!!

I'm believing most guys around here that have been there will tell you..... they could have continued in whatever was required of them.....
But back to my experience. After we were done, we were loaded on deuce and a halfs and hauled out of the hills ( sorry, lived in CO 12 years and now in the Phoenix area.... CO had Mtns :)
No covers over the back of the duece's.... and had been raining/sleeting for the past few days.... we had been soaked for several days. On that haul back it snowed. We were all in our F**t sacks.... packed like sardines.
Thinkin' back, I'm not sure if any of us could control the teeth shattering/shivers for that ride back to the Hill.

AHHHH screw this stuff from a guy that went through in '69.... just DON'T quit!!!

And I'm tired of typing :)
