It's astonishing to see how those who are asked to do the most by the government are always the first to get hacked when they need to find money. We, the few, who signed the dotted line must be the first to give things up when times get hard.
Yep...I like the way they term it "more modest" than what retirees are being paid today. They want you to give more, receive less, and then get another two or three jobs to support yourself.
Veterans are way too small a voting bloc for anyone to really give a shit about.

Spot on jefe... Vets are distributed thinly across a lot of voting districts... And realistically, the military is a cross-section of America. The assumption that the "military voting block" would follow some single agenda would be unfounded (IMHO)
Isn't this a win/win for a certain institution?

Attrit the relative confidence level gap(possibly viewed as a threat) while concurrently saving money that can be used for vote buying.

Is it possible to measure the cost of gaining/retaining/losing Subject Matter Expertise(SME)?
If so, I wonder how such a calculation is incorporated into the analysis and recommendation.
If the SME retention "sweet spot" falls into say a 15-30 years service bell curve with the current compensation scheme, what will the SERVICE retention bell curve look in the future with the anticipated changes, and how will that impact on SME retention?
