Super Bowl XLIX
Really, no Super Bowl thread yet? Please allow me to begin. :D
Did you hear?
Tom Brady is trowing a Super Bowl party for the neighborhood kids..
I hope it doesn't inflate his ego,, to much...
There are less than thirty seconds left in the game.
You're down by four points.
You have the ball on the three yard line.
You have three downs and two time outs remaining.
You have a guy like Marshawn Lynch in the backfield, who is just deadly in this area.
You don't get cute.
You don't get creative.
You RUN THE FUCKING BALL !!!!!!!
The hawks gave that game to N.E.
...The hawks gave that game to N.E.
Yep...that call will go down as one of the worst in NFL history....

An absolutely insane call.
Pete, whoever called that play cost you and your boys a ring.

I have a sneaking suspicion Barry Switzer is the George Soros supported closet offensive coordinator for Seattle.
I watched Eisenstein's "Battleship Potemkin" and turned on the game with 1:58 left on the clock - I saw the best part of the game and missed all the hype, half-time baloney, etc.
I wonder how much Bush paid Wilson to throw that pass.

I cannot imagine how many pissed off offensive players there are on the seahawks. Can you imagine being one of the offensive linemen or that running back who was kicking ass? 3 downs and three yards for the win and no faith that they can punch it in. Good lord, at least give it a couple of tries before you think about running a play action or boot on the last down.
I hope the O Coordinator manned up in the locker room after the game and apologized.
...if Lynch would have scored the winner, how would we have gotten him to give an interview to talk about his 3-yard game winning rush? Marshawn Lynch don't like talking to the press, and without a game winning rush, no one is gonna come begging him for an interview. The universe has a way of maintaining equilibrium.
The right team won folks...
...the Boston Red Sox disappointed sports fans for almost a hundred years. The Red Sox disappointed sports fans so bad that the Patriots wont even call themselves the Boston Patriots. Boston sports fans need a team to offset a hundred years of professional sports disappointment. The universe has a way of maintaining equilibrium.
Besides, I can't root for a team from a pot-head state.
Go Patriots !!!

Sigh. 2nd down and half a yard to go. We were yelling, "give it to Marshawn" over and over before that play even though they would be expecting that.
On to next season.
That catch was unbelievable...
That play call and interception unbelievable...
Offsides....unf$king believable.
What an sequence of events.
The Pats have felt the sting themselves.
New best Super Bowl finish...EVAH !

Certainly a closer and more competitive game than last year.
I was hoping for a wardrobe malfunction during that halftime show and was left completely disappointed.

With this analogy, one could say that the Chicago Cubs and Bears are the Yin to Boston's Yang.
Trust me, any Cubbies fan will tell you ... we know hardships. :boohoo

The Celtics of the '60s and '80s? I may get a senior discount, but I'm not a centenarian yet. ;)

I've received this from both Seahawks and Pats fans.
I won a $120.00 and dinner for two at the restaurant of my choice, but that's not the sweet part of the bet, the sweet part was the voice on the other end of the phone telling me "You're done", "Game is over, like O.V.E.R. you understand that"?
Then "NO NON NO real loud" I'm still laughing...:D
what is the idea here... Never quit!
There are two sides to every story, statistically speaking Carroll may have made the right call. Perhaps from a yard out Lynch is not the big stud everyone thinks he is.

Analytics specialist for ESPNStatsInfo, Alok Pattani, tweeted the more astute observation, “Execution, i.e. Butler’s great play, had MUCH bigger impact than call, based on prior knowledge. Easy to second guess knowing result.”
A few other stats supported calling for a pass on that play. On five previous times this season, the Seahawks handed the ball to Lynch on the 1 yard line. Four times he failed to score. Also, ESPN reported that NFL teams this season were more likely to score from the 1 yard line by passing than by running: teams scored by passing 61% of the time vs 58% of the time running the ball. Lastly, there had not been an interception thrown from the 1 yard line all season.

Sports talk radio is running rampant with conspiracy theories on the play call.....
New grist for the mill. Relieves some of the pressure on the Pats
