I don't understand, if the muslims are playing make believe why would the state government even give a shit or get involved? Does the great state of Texas give a shit what Pagans do? Oh sorry, forgot, it's islam, we're supposed to fain attention.



Islamic Tribunal Confirmed in Texas; Attorney Claims ‘It’s Voluntary’

An Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law in Texas has been confirmed by Breitbart Texas. The tribunal is operating as a non-profit organization in Dallas. One of the attorneys for the tribunal said participation and acceptance of the tribunal’s decisions are “voluntary.”

Breitbart Texas spoke with one of the “judges,” Dr. Taher El-badawi. He said the tribunal operates under Sharia law as a form of “non-binding dispute resolution.” El-badawi said their organization is “a tribunal, not arbitration.” A tribunal is defined by Meriam-Webster’s Dictionary as “a court or forum of justice.” The four Islamic attorneys call themselves “judges” not “arbitrators.”

El-badawi said the tribunal follows Sharia law to resolve civil disputes in family and business matters. He said they also resolve workplace disputes.

In matters of divorce, El-badawi said that “while participation in the tribunal is voluntary, a married couple cannot be considered divorced by the Islamic community unless it is granted by the tribunal.” He compared their divorce, known as “Talaq,” as something similar to the Catholic practice of annulment in that the church does not recognize civil divorce proceedings as ending a marriage.

Here's what they claim to be their mission: "Our Mission - The need for a mediation and non-binding arbitration firm that adheres to Islamic principles in the Muslim community has been a long time in the making."

Here's what the tribunal says of its legal status: "IT’s decisions have to be fair, just and conforming to legal proceedings at the local, state and federal level and recognized as such by the courts."

Their web-site doesn't seem as if it is quite what Breitbart makes it sound like it is.

Aside from their use or not of sharia law..

They do seem to think they can create their own court system, outside of the normal Texas judicial system??

That alone should get the state & local DA's 100% attention..

I have not hear of any "local" private courts for some 130 yrs. Judge Roy Bean was established in the 1880's, over in Val Verde County, Texas. He was at least appointed by the governor, at the request of the Texas Rangers. He jurisprudence may have been questionable, but he was legal.

Also, I would add federal, but that's a no-go dead-end.. berry is probably encouraging Al Sharpton to help establish these courts.

I believe that the Viet Cong had their own "tribunals".

It was called a "shadow government" that was part of an insurgency. That's what I equate Islam to, many of the commies love this sort of stuff. Legitimizing the "underdogs".

If one were to subscribe to the slippery slope theory then this "system" could be the beginning of something more official or binding in the muslim community. If they are to assimilate into society however why should they establish a separate justice system? I'm not sure how the state will deal with this but it is certainly worthy of observation.
