Sneak this race in as it is coming up in March: http://www.elkmountainstraverse.com/
If anyone is going, especially to race and needs support let me know, I plan on scouting both start and finish if weather permits.
Include video of Patrouille des Glaciers a European race the Elk Mountain Traverse is loosely based on : http://vimeo.com/53348306

When I was in 10th my ODA was going to do this, but then something came up and we couldn't do it. Back then I think Mountain Hardware sponsored it. That's how we found out about it. I had bought a ton of mountain gear and they called the team room up.

Well, sounds like your due a trip back and you would be welcome anytime :lifter Mt Goat.
What would be rich is to send a 7th Group team, I have seen some of them tear up a race course :D

It would speak volumes about the Mountain Training across SOF's to see teams be a fixture in this race...

I don't know why 10th or 1st Groups don't send at least one team. It's great public relations effort.

What a great and interesting event! The race started off at midnight on one of the nicest nights I can remember. Hard to describe the pulsating beat and cheers from the deck as a Soul Train disco party raged with many of the younger locals from Mt.C.B. and CB showing their interpretation of that era...with all out commitment! A lot of fun!

Then in here come the racers and there they go, off into the dark.
