US frees six Guantanamo detainees to go to Uruguay

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-30367734

"The US government says it has released six Guantanamo Bay detainees and sent them to Uruguay for resettlement.

A Pentagon statement on Sunday identified the men as four Syrians, a Tunisian and a Palestinian...."

and

"...Uruguayan President Jose Mujica decided to take the detainees on humanitarian grounds in March but the move was put off until after elections last month...."

Wonder how long they'll stay there?

...hm
Global terrorists killed two hostages during a rescue attempt at the same time we were releasing four top level bad guys.

See, we really ARE the good guys.

That was quick

"Mujica says Guantanamo inmates in Uruguay can leave whenever they wish

http://en.mercopress.com/2014/12/08/mujica-says-guantanamo-inmates-in-uruguay-can-leave-whenever-they-wish

"The detainees from Guantanamo Base in Cuba that arrived in Uruguay on Sunday as part of an agreement with the US, “can leave the country whenever they wish”, since they come as 'refugees', announced President Jose Mujica...."

what a waste...

we should have bargained with terrorists since we've already set the precedent.

I have a feeling that in the grand scheme of things that a trade for the journalist would have been better for Americas soul than that lemon of a deal we got over Bergdahl

...why stop now

So we are sponsoring an Islamic insurgency in Uruguay now. Brilliant strategic move.

This is what came to mind for me as well. Wouldn't the slums of Central and South America likely be an at risk demographic for conversion to Islam?

It seems to me that some tenants of Islam, would likely fit in line with the machismo aspect of found in some Latin cultures. Although, as far as I am aware Catholicism is very prevalent. That and I suppose it would be hard to get the ladies of Brazil into a burqa. ;)

This could fit many places but the topic of this thread was the release of Guantanamo detainees.

Those who opposed the release of the Guantanamo detainees may have been on to something.

A British IS fighter who died in a suicide bomb attack on Iraqi forces in Mosul is a former Guantanamo Bay detainee, the BBC understands.

The self-styled Islamic State group said two days ago that Abu-Zakariya al-Britani detonated a car bomb at an Iraqi army base in Tal Gaysum, south-west of Mosul.

He is believed to have been originally known as Ronald Fiddler.
Fiddler, 50 and from Manchester, was sent to Guantanamo Bay in 2002.

The Daily Mail reported Fiddler received a million pounds in compensation from the government when he came back to the UK.

The BBC has seen IS registration papers signed by Fiddler in April 2014 when he crossed into Syria from Turkey.

He volunteered to be a fighter, saying his knowledge of Islam was basic.

On the bright side... that shit stick is now deader than fried chicken.
...the legal system under that schmuck from chicago would have never done anything definitive with his ass

If Caricature Of The United States #44 hadn't been such a sympathizer, bent on releasing America's most dangerous enemies back into the wild, Abu-Zakariya al-Britani would still be alive today.

Yes, the previous "O"bammmmaaaa", let's just release those poor innocent prisoners from Gitmo....thanks, let the savages run wild because he and his group of Middle School A&& Clowns have always been soft, just like a Marshmallow.

“The martyrdom-seeking brother Abu Zakariya al-Britani — may Allah accept him — detonated his explosives-laden vehicle on a headquarters of the Rafidhi army and its militias in Tal Kisum village, southwest of Mosul,” the terror group said.
BBC.....Just Lovely....Thanks "O".....looks like Mr. Innocent killed a few poor souls because of your lack of fortitude, and yes Mr. "O" he was an Islamic Terrorist, a word you refused to utter while in office....and luckily as of right now, he is a extra fried Krispy Creme Donut....still smoldering...

1966: Ronald Fiddler is born in Manchester to devout Christian parents originating from Jamaica

1994: He converts to Islam, changing his name to Jamal Udeen al-Harith

October 2001: Al-Harith travels to Quetta in Pakistan, on a 'religious holiday'. A few day later the US invasion of neighbouring Afghanistan began
