Gentlemen!

Glad to be cleared hot for this post.

First, Team Sergeant I appreciate the early waiver. As per my message to you and to be respectful for everyone else who had to wait the normal period prior to posting, I will only post on this thread and message folks on this line. I will read/observe other threads until the normal period is up and then I will double check with Team Sergeant for clearance before posting anything elsewhere.

Second, I appreciate the attention you all gave the company. I'm surprised that it has made it this far regardless since it's my first business venture following the active side of things.

Instead of typing a while, I will wait for any questions you all have regarding the company etc.. Please fire away and I will respond as soon as possible. My wife and I had our first little paratrooper drop in July 4th so the kid is doing the regular rollercoaster of waking up, crying, creating diaper bombs and eating. If I take a little while to respond I'm attending to my responsibilities.

Respect to you all and your past service regardless of branch. But, to the older SF vets, thank you for clearing the trail for the younger ones of us to travel.

I look forward to chatting soon.

Are you going to offer some Vietnamese coffee? When you do, I'm in. :lifter

D. - since you asked I'll look, but I can't promise anything.

I purchase my coffee from a supplier who goes directly to farms and offers direct trade, organic (aka hippy certified ;) ) / tranditionally grown crops and I do my best to maintain an inventory of coffee I feel is very high quality.

I know Vietnam is one of the asian coffee powerhouses and will search for farms I can directly do business. If anyone already has a lead I can look into I am always open to new info.

Got the green light from A.W. to post this up.
He's been kinda busy and will only get busier here in awhile with drill coming up, so his shop is going to be down for awhile.

He posted up these "Kits" over on FB the other day.

I ordered the .30cal kit and he said it'll ship out sometime this week.

The t-shirts are XL and come in either Gray or Tan.

A.W. said he'll try and get on here when he gets a chance.

In the mean time, pick out which kit you'd like, send him an email via the listed email and he'll get it out to you.

ETA ... Part of the payment will also go out in support of the Green Beret Foundation !!!!

A definite "Win-Win", in my opinion.

Here's part of an email we traded ...

Once we are finished selling the combos I will calculate the profits and shoot out an email stating what was made along with how much will be donated to the Green Beret Foundation.

Additionally, please pass the word onto whoever might be interested in ordering that I have my annual training with 19th Group 13FEB-2MAR and will be pausing the coffee ops for a short period. I will get someone else to help with the business in the future to keep things roasting and shipping but until then my SF commitments will pause things every now and again.

I really appreciate your support and please let me know if there's anything else you would like to see offered with the business.

The company does an excellent job keeping everyone up to date with facebook posts. AW is a true professional taking care of customers, with the added benefit of donations to the GBF. De Espresso Liber is a perfect example of one of the many SF owned businesses that I watch for and support.

I got mine the other day. I had liked his page on FB and I won a drawing I didn't even know I was in. It's real good coffee, and I love to see the brothers doing good things when they get out. When I see it, I do what I can to get the word out.

Good job DeEspressoLiber, and thanks again for the coffee. I posted the pic on my FB and IG account trying to spread the word.

The first pot has been ground and is ready to go for my morning commute. :D

Will definitely be ordering another one of these kits for my brother for an Easter/early Father's Day gift.

More than a Cup of Coffee at De Espresso Liber

It’s not every day that you can brew a cup of coffee that was roasted in Washington and also helps a military family or a fallen soldier. But families around Thurston County and the South Sound are enjoying the special brews of De Espresso Liber, the business brainchild of Alex, who wishes to go by his first name for security purposes.

The company’s name is derived from the US Army Special Forces motto – “De Opresso Liber,” meaning “To Free the Oppressed.” De Espresso Liber started out as a single operation, more like a hobby, with Alex using a torch, steel bowl and wooden spoon in the garage of his Lacey home. The company has now grown to a two-man operation, with Armando Pimentel on board.

“I was commissioned through a mutual friend to do the artwork for the company logo and I loved what Alex was doing and the coffee so much that he asked me to help him out with graphics,” Armando said. “After a few short months of working together, we realized we had the same vision and values. I was then brought on full time to balance it out and tell the infantryman side of the house – one SF Solider and one 11Bravo.”

Alex served seven years in the US Army Special Forces, working with an elite corps of soldiers and counterparts overseas. It was during that time overseas that his love for coffee grew. “We agreed that the standard military coffee and a lot of regular store bought coffee just didn’t cut it,” Armando said.

“When you are constantly drinking bad coffee you just get used to bad coffee and think that is the pinnacle of the coffee experience; there’s nothing to enjoy, you simply drink it to stay awake.” It was during his time overseas in southeast Asia, drinking coffee freshly roasted and direct from the source, that Alex realized he was tasting a better cup he had ever had before. This is when he developed the love for roasting.

Armando will tell you that starting any new business is a little scary, “but we were trained to adapt and overcome.” Their inspiration comes from the brotherhood shared and remembering the Fallen. “It is up to us to keep their memories alive and remember these men who inspire us to be better than we were yesterday.”

Get 'em while they last !!!!

From DEL's FB page ...

We'll be dropping a set of +12oz Green Beret Foundation authorized mugs soon! This is an initial run, hand crafted by Deneen Pottery, will be a few dozen but we are already looking at another style to begin a follow on set if there is great reception with this run.

We will donate 30% of the profits to the GBF to help support their important missions. Additionally, we will 'pre-donate' the funds so every customer knows money has already been pushed forward.

So, stay tuned! We'll drop these on the website in a few hours!

Already gone...

Actually they're not sold out ... yet.

Got this PM from one of the guys earlier ...

... we're launching tomorrow (7th) since the 6th is Extortion 17s anniversary and we want to focus on remembering them. This is a short run but we're going to offer another run in 6 weeks. We had a very positive reaction and the GBF is VERY happy with this. If Brothers are interested, we will do runs with Group colors incorporated that still donate heavily to the GBF in order to support The Brotherhood.

Just posted on their FB page ....

The GBF Mugs will be available in approximately one hour! (1230pm Eastern - 930am Pacific)

There were not many this run but we are going to order another set and it should be available within approximately six weeks.

We were going to see what the reception on these would be and so far folks have given a big thumbs up to these and have been told we need to get this going again ASAP!

Other than the green glaze scheme as shown, what other colors would you all like to see? Please let us know and we will consider adding good ideas to the next run!

Seeing that the GBF mugs sold out within 12 hours of being posted up, they're going to do another run.

They have set a Pre-order page on their web site for anyone who would like one.

http://www.deespressoliber.com/Green-Beret-Foundation-Mug

Also received this PM from AW and would like your guy's input.

We're going to be doing another run ASAP along with dropping some tankards so folks can better utilize these for beer and coffee. If you would please, can you pass the word along and let us know whether there is a big thumbs up or thumbs down within the greater community? We're thinking a straighter tankard that's at least 18oz and possibility the same color scheme as the mug. Are there any colors that folks overwhelmingly prefer, otherwise the green was very popular. DOL, AW

You can post up here your input and I'll pass it along, or head over to DEL's FB page and let them know directly.

Penn,

I shot out an email this morning and apologize for the delay. I've been on full time orders since the beginning of the year and it's been hell on my schedule to say the least. I'll be coming off of them in a few weeks so I can get everything back on track with the business.

In the email I made a suggestion on the 5# bag you were asking about and there was an estimate on the shipping too. Let me know what you think and we can re-hash the numbers if needed. I'm getting a higher capacity roaster made and it will be finished in a few months so I will let you know how that affects pricing since the volume increase should help decrease over labor on my end.

All the best Brother and very glad to hear your business is ready!
