I just learned that AZ will issue non-resident CCWs which have reciprocity in 29 states. My application is in the mail!!! :lifter

I strongly suspect that Kali checks the system and puts their residents on a watch list. :D

Good way to increase revenue.

Not only that but the renewal is just like the DMV, they send you a notice that you need to renew and for $43 bucks they send you a new license in the mail.....

I'm not sure we should be celebrating that when it should be somewhere closer to zero. ;)

Well I'll be reading up on this! I'm currently station in Japan, but get to visit home thanks to TDYs frequently. I'd like to have this prior to coming back to the states. Thanks for the link.

It is zero to actually carry. I can carry and not purchase a CCW license if I so desire. $43 is for the license to carry which give you reciprocity in 29 states......

Anyone can carry concealed in Arizona if they are not felons, over 21 etc.

I understand, but a little rectangle of plastic and no additional paperwork shouldn't cost $43. Five maybe. My sister in Texas pays $150. :D

I agree with your thought on price, Pat.
Why are we paying more than a few dollars for a permit? And I never did see asking for permission either.
Isn't carrying a natural enumerated right?

As TS said, you don't need a permit in AZ even if you are not an AZ citizen. Our's is to allow us to carry in other states.

I've got mine, and I'm a WA resident. There is a training requirement (easy peasy), but there are also out of state instructors certified to provide that training, the certificate of training, and the finger print cards. The class I went to here in WA early last year covered the requirements for Arizona, Oregon, and Utah.

No Mil discount? Here in TX, show them a current LES and it's all free! :lifter

The Idaho Enhanced CCW is looking pretty good too.

Could it be argued, rationally, that the cost of a CCW permit is tantamount to a poll tax? Both designed to keep citizens from lawfully exercising their constitutional right?

I can confirm that these are, in fact, issued to non-residents. :lifter
