"A former Fort Bragg soldier will be honored Thursday when a West Virginia roadway is dedicated in his honor.

Joe Alderman, a native of Bartley, West Virginia, died in 1994, said his widow, Linda Alderman.

The retired Army master sergeant spent 22 years in the military, mostly at Fort Bragg, and later served in civilian roles as deputy installation range officer and deputy and technical advisor to the director of training and doctrine at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School....."

Lots of the older crowd knew Joe.

Fitting tribute to a Warrior who dedicated much of his life in service to his country.

Nice tribute.

Got this from a 7th Group FB post
The Riverview High School Principal has requested that the Road Dedication Ceremony scheduled for Thursday 18 September be postponed to a later date. The reason for this last minute postponement is the sudden death on 15 September of former West Virginia State Senator Keith Wagner.

Keith Wagner was the state official who sponsored the Joe Alderman Memorial Road in the West Virginia Legislature, and was well known, and well loved by the staff, and students of Riverview High School. The students and staff are quite distraught and grieving.

Riverview High School is also cancelling and rescheduling all athletic games for this week; and expect that a memorial services for Mr. Wagner will be held here at the school.

We expect that it will be at least two weeks before Riverview High School will be able to determine a new date for the Joe C Alderman Memorial Road” Dedication.
