Not now - never has been...in whichever version has been passed around.
Maroochydore State High School does not have any such message on its school answering machine. Nor has it ever done so. In fact, the supposed message has circulated around the Internet for several years. During its journeys, successive pranksters have modified the name of the school that is claimed to have the message on its phone system. Other versions have featured a high school in California, schools in the Midlands area of the UK, and schools in various other locations around the world. A more generic version of the piece that does not name any specific school has also been posted to a great many joke and humour websites.
