View Full Version : Ants!
I have no idea where to put this but, last night, the dog left one kibble on the floor beside his bowl. Shortly after he was done, tiny ants showed up and surrounded it. I watched the rest of the evening as they moved it about 20' to the back door. Then, for awhile, they struggled to get it through the crack in the door, which was impossible. I opened the door and place the kibble outside for them. The tenacity of ants is incredible. :lifter
BTW, I don't have TV so I find entertainment where I can. :p

One of my favorite childhood memories is the time I went to an abandoned parking lot in my neighborhood and saw two ant mounds about five feet away from each other. When I got closer, I saw that one was a mound of small red ants, the other giant red ants. They were engaged in the mother of all ant wars.
I sat down and wached them for about two hours as the battle raged back and forth, with reinforcements streaming out of each respective mound and both sides dragging their dead away. After a while the little reds started winning, and they breached the larger mound. They started bringing up the other ants' eggs and carrying them back to their own mound. They killed all the large ants.
It's still to this day one of the coolest things I ever saw.

Sounds like whats going on in Iraq today.
Watching ants ... never thought of doing that.
Usually all it takes to keep me entertained is a puddle and a lolly-pop.

Iraq had some wicked ants. Not the biting kind, but numerous. Sprinkle some MRE cracker out and watch the trail. We burned them up with a magnifying glass, and the others would survey the dead, get help, and carry the bodies away.
