Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday night accused President Barack Obama and other Democrats of waging wars against religious liberty and education and said that a rebellion is brewing in the U.S. with people ready for "a hostile takeover" of the nation's capital.
Sounds like he wants to run in '16.

As Gov of LA a state at the bottom of the barrel in HS education, he's not one to speak out against the Feds and education.

While what you say is true, WCH, his statements regarding education and religion are also true. My state is even lower on the totem pole than LA. The only way to fix the public education system here is to issue the students parents. Not new parents. Because they currently don't have any thing resembling a parent in an effective sense of the word. Common Core or any other new set of standards isn't going to fix it.
You can't throw money at the education problem and solve any problem at all but raising teacher's salaries.
As far as the religious war goes, look at the recent MIT commencement. ONE student voiced a complaint and the prayer was dropped. Just one high profile example.
Jindal probably overstated some things, but he was playing to his audience, in preparation for '16. And Cajuns do tend to be hot- headed. He is a Cajun, right.... :D
I agree with him. I also believe that ever since the Fed got involved in education our standards have dropped and the attitude of everyone gets a trophy (diploma) has driven us lower in the international standings.
Let the states do states' business and the feds work on national security issues (mil, borders, International commerce, etc...).
Not every state can be number one on every chart.

If you brought up all the teachers who are below average in pay to the "average", they would then all be at the bottom of the barrel in pay.

From what I saw with my daughter's teachers they deserve to be paid what they are getting. Sad to say that; we get what we pay for. Child molesters, dope dealers, murder conspirators, gang members, military haters, and socialist females. The kids need discipline and male interaction. To get this would require a total revamping of the educationless system that the unions (aha, socialist) would not support.
...hm
I wonder when ole Bobby J is going to lead the charge.
I hope he doesn't run for resident. That one line alone proves he is too full of shit to do any better than the guy makiing "dont cross this line" threats....
If Bobby J is the best the republicans have to offer, then we might as well vote for Hillary.
...if she ever threatens a rebellion, you can bet your ass there will be blood in the streets by sundown.
