Its a common occurrence in livestock confinement pits here in the Midwest, the rescuer becomes the victim. If you have ever found yourself in an oxygen deficient atmosphere you get overcome quite quickly.
The husband and his mother both had pulses when they were rescued, but died after it took medical responders more than an hour to arrive on the scene.
What .... no one stepped up and offered mouth to mouth ????
Well, I guess that's one way to flush societies Riff-Raff.
