I didn't know where to post this.
She died a year ago, but I just learned of it. Her sister was my neighbor for 9 years and Borah visited when home on leave. She was a 1st CAV Captain when I last saw her in 1984 and her sister, my wife, and I went to the LA Olympics. Until reading this obituary, I had no idea that she had competed in the ’68 Summer Olympics. I did know that she was involved in Texas politics, but had no clue as to how effectively.
The stories of her humor, dedication, intensity, and personality are true. They left out the part where she could drink a guy under the table, sling him over her shoulder, and carry him up a flight of stairs! Nope, not me. I learned to water my own drinks when around her. ;)

Garryowen Borah! Rest in Peace.
