Well this seem to be an article from a Russian paper RIA Novosti so take it at value. Know your sources. I haven't heard much about any American Mercs from an Company, so likely a Kremlin IO campaign.

See one thing I found out after posting this is that RT, the German paper and the Canadian periodical all have ties or direct ties to a Russian and former FGB ties. So this was a or is a Russian IO underlining campaign.
