Forgive me if this is not the right forum to post this?

I have a bunch of old Colt 20 round magazines that have 100mph tape on the bottoms. I have removed as much of the tape as I could but I am still stuck with allot of residue that refuses to come off. I have tried Denatured Alcohol, Acetone, and hot water with laundry soap.

Can anybody tell me what I can use to remove this sticky residue on these magazines?

Hippie tears will usually do the trick. If that doesn't work, WD-40 or PB Blaster work pretty good.

ETA: A little light brushing with some 4/0 steel wool with the WD or PB may help. Just be sure not to strip any finish off.

Goo Gone works pretty good too.

Try an orange based gell paint stripper. I once had a rem 700 w/ large scope covered with white water proof first aid tape. It was on for years as camo. When I decided to sell it, thought it would be easy to clean up. Wrong. The tape came off but the adhesive stayed behind, like some new space age coating. Nothing would touch it, not even the usuals...including Goo Gone (a favorite) or Goof Off. The Orange Gell Paint Stripper did a fantastic job on the synthetic stock, rifle and stock. It looked like new when done.

Found it: "Citristrip" Safer paint & varnish Stripping Gel.

Hippy tears are also suspected to cure cancer.

+1.... I really hate agreeing with Peregrino, though... It makes me feel dirty.;)

Have you tried Frog Lube or Fire Clean?

Not yet. But you guys are great. I had some PB Blaster & WD40 but I keep forgetting these at the Home Depot.

I've never heard of Hippie Tears, "Proper use of explosives, Booty Sweat, or Crotch Rocket before (just kidding!).:)

It looks like I will be doing a little side by side comparison.:D

Thanks guys!

I have used Orange Glo (http://www.walmart.com/ip/11028055?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227009966975&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40343165552&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78303289352&veh=sem) before, works great, even on canvas.

C4 man. There is no problem that can not be solved with the proper use of high explosives.

I've got this weird looking mole on the back of my thigh....
....do I just strap on the C4 and kick it off...or is it more like aromatherapy, where I just burn it next to my bed at night...?

:D
