.... Unfortunate Thug Then Finds Out How Ex-Special Forces Soldiers Respond to Such Behavior.

:munchin

Maen Mdanat has become something of a neighborhood hero since taking ownership of the Axis Food Mart in Tuscon, Arizona, about five years ago.

“He really cares about his community and giving back,” Peter Norback, creator of the nearby One Can A Week food donation program, told KVOA-TV in Tuscon. “People come up, don’t always have the change (to pay for an item), he just lets them slide. No convenience store does that.”

But more than that, Norbeck writes on his blog, Mdanat quickly jumped in to help Norbeck “clean up our neighborhood” and even do some crime prevention to the point where “peace and civility is the norm.”

And when a would-be thief entered he Axis Food Mart about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, demanding cash from the store clerk on duty, Mdanat went into action, emerging from his office, telling the thug to get lost, and leading him out the door.

But instead of accepting the easy way out, the trouble-seeker sucker-punched Mdanat:

“He was comfortable walking in, showing his muscle, like ‘I can do whatever I want,’” Mdanat told KVOA. “That’s basically the message he gave me when he walked in. But I changed his idea when he walked out.”

What the thug couldn’t have known is that Mdanat has Army special-forces training in his background — and wasn’t about to let the guy get off lightly.

With a quick kick to the gut and just one punch, Mdanat has the crook’s face up close and personal with the pavement.

Circling the guy, Mdanat gets in a few more blows to make sure he’s reached the “uncle” stage — then Mdanat actually asks him if he’s OK before shooing him off.

“I’m still human,” he told KVOA. “I have kids and a wife.”

Getting that close to a criminal does not seem like a very good idea to me but then again I have no military, let alone special forces, experience. But who am I to criticize how he conducted his interview? Round two...?

My dad (5th group in Nam) always used to say once Special Forces, always Special Forces. No need for ex or former or any of that. According to him, at least.

Was this guy a Special Forces soldier or did he just have some traiining? Good for him knocking the bad guy out but some clarity is needed...
