What delicate hands he has for being such a tough nut.

He is wearing Cadet Major rank, but he also appears to be wearing a Bronze Star.

Not sure how you get permission to leave your HS JROTC program to participate in combat.

The "Hester" uniform appears to contain almost all "high school / college" ribbons/badges and tabs, with only three actual active component awards/decorations:

- Bronze Star Medal
- Expert Infantry badge
- Expert Weapons Qualification

That young man should explain their presence on his uniform.

The other photograph appears to be a well decorated Junior ROTC cadet (in other words, a high school boy) who has done well in his training, academics, and sports. I think he should be commended. That's someone's son, and IMO it is wrong to poke fun at him. It doesn't appear that he has done anything wrong.

Isn't his brass ROTC not JROTC.

It also seems odd that he is wearing ROTC (advanced course), and Torch Disks (basic course cadet).
