Army secretary approves new grooming, uniform regs

Army Secretary John McHugh on Thursday approved a long-awaited revision to grooming and uniform regulations, according to an Army statement. The updated Army Regulation 670-1 and related policy will replace more than 50 all-Army messages and, “include new policies on many topics such as tattoos, fingernail polish, and general uniform wear,” the Army said.

Well we have talked about this as being a factor to get rid of soldiers to make the numbers for the drawdown cuts.

I guess they had better come on down her to PR. I just saw several NCO's on base yesterday with large Neck Tats showing while in Uniform. All E-7, E-8 and one SGM. Guess they are going to get a notice gram.

They were acting more like thugs than Army Senior NCO's so nothing lost.

Tattoos on hands and necks will only be used for people the Command wants to get rid of. I see more lower enlisted getting the boot. Not some E8 or E9 with a tribal neck tat is going to get the boot.

For now I read it as a guidelines.

Drawdown, buildup, drawdown, buildup ad infinitum.

This is the 4th cycle I've lived through...

The dems get us into wars, the Repubs get us out, the dems draw us down, the Repubs build us up.
