Any suggestions would be great, tend to like American and French bistro style cooking, Spanish wines, and good Bar food.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

King Street in Old Town Alexandria would to be a good place to go. There are a lot of places near each other. I used to go to a place called Bilbo Baggins', very large beer selection. It's a short walk from the Old Town metro station.

Mr. Furious used to really enjoy Moby's House of Kabobs in Georgetown for a late night snack...

Saw this one on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives last night. I think you would like their product.

Thank you all, 1789 looks good, I'm loving the ping pong and pizza joint, that's will be a quick drive by grab a bite, I'm nuts about wood burning pizza ovens. This summer we're red necking a grill to have our own in house 1.6666 heaven experience....

Penn- When I make pizza at home, I crank up my grill to 600 degrees and use a pizza stone to bake the pie. I add oak or hickory chips when I put the pie on the stone. It takes about 5 minutes or so to bake off...

JSMosby, thanks for the 1789, had a great time, my wife is all about service and the service staff was off the charts! Food was solid American cooking, reminded me of the 21 Club in NYC.
RL, canceled Jaleo seemed to commercial, we needed something a bit more intimate. But we did have a moment: Met the 44th Vice President of the United States. Wonderful quick chat, when I thank him his reply was square in the eye sincerity: "It was my Honor", Thank you. Great solid hand shake, confident, and personable.

My classmate who hails from Barcelona, currently with the Spanish Embassy in DC, was over the moon, but we failed to ask for a photo.
