I saw this posted on FB and thought it was great to see the Wounded Warrior Teams and Admiral McRaven's was great.
Here is the video (http://youtu.be/MTbMnfKB1hk)
So who is doing the Charlotte NC Spirt or the Columbia SC Beast Races?
That was a really cool video. I think they did something like that out here at Carson that 10th Group sponsored.

Yeah 10th Group held the race in 2011. From what I heard and read back then, it was Colorado Springs best attended race.
I have said it before that USSOCOM should hold there own Spartan, Mudder, and anyone of the others. Every post that has USSOCOM unit has the obstacle course, MOUT site, like the one at Carson. So many other things and could do what Admiral McRaven said and did to raise a different awareness other than the warriors that SOF personnel are.
It's not only great for awareness but it helps with rapport building, amongst the local community. Win win
I'm too old and worn-out to even spectate that event. :D

Roger and the only reason it stays on this website is because MtnGoat posted it, otherwise it would be gone. Wounded Warriors charity is nothing more than a scam.

TM SGT yes WWP is a joke and they have NO TIES with that piece of crap organization. I went back to make sure, but Admiral McRaven's speech never stated WWP, just recognize active-duty members retirees and wounded Warriors ever racing.
My reference to anything wounded warrior is every race a group of 4-6 wounded warriors get together and run the race as a team. In the video you can see what if the main wounded warriors racers. One runs with workout "gas masks" the other is just a bunch of guys running. The one I know of run to raise money for a warrior that is in need of money for something.
Also many different SOF Units have done or sponsored a race as MacDill and 10th Group did. Like Max Tab said great PR/PAO born horn.

Yes you have to pay for the race. They rent out stadiums, race tracks (NASCAR), and ski resorts during the summertime.

Dusty you don't have to run, they're great day of fun for the young and OLD. I have a 54 or 58 year guy that runs them for fun. You have people that are 300+ lbs that run, I mean walks them. So you never know Dusty you may like it. Also some great eye candy when you volunteer too.
But if you are into running the you can run for free by The following year one right then your next break free. You volunteered to be a station reset person or a safety person and then your next race is free.
Most Groups have someone that can get you a 15% or more discount, ask around.

I can vouch that Tough Mudder is a fun time, and yes plenty of fit girls.
I like that GORUCK was mentioned. I'm looking to attend one in the DC area soon. There's a thread on here dedicated to it.

Yes they do, but I don't feel like paying for selection events, not my thing now. :p
I have said it here before. I think GBF should work with USASFC and develop their own GBF obstacle run or whatever you want to call it. With SF Groups being the focus and the way they are spread across the U.S.A they would get a good pull of people. The Charolette on Saturday had over 8,000 people and over 12,000 people total!! I always that this would be a great way to get donations to GBF if each Group runs the race on their local post or city. Look at the cost to run the race and then look at a T-Shirt, headband and metal cost. Chump change to what is would be pulled in by a race.
Bragg, Campbell, Carson, Lewis, Eglin and even Germany and even Okie. Then you have all the city/post that the NG HQ are in. Texas, Utah, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, California, and Colorado. You can even throw in the GCC and their SOCs cities.. So Tampa and Hawaii. Between the units, families and the SFA in each of these units area, I feel it is a great outreach, fund raising and PAO Event.
BTW Charlotte was a wet muddy Sprint, great fun.

Great minds think alike ;)
I did want to add a new link to the Race upcoming in Colorado Springs...because the charity listed as a beneficiary is the Green Beret Foundation http://www.spartanrace.com/colorado-obstacle-racing-spartan-sprint-2014.html#.

I didn't know that. What Carson has done is the model of what post should do. Great community out reach and spirt of the games. Post HQ took full control and far as I know 10th main doesn't involve itself anymore with it really.
