When did a "comedian's" opinion become "news"?

F**K, forget that, the liberals voted one a senator......

What next a muslim as presi...... s**t

We will destroy ourselves and this nation from within.

From my perspective, I view John Stewart as like a court jester who is largely sycophantic towards the current king.....and one of the rare few who can get away with a nasty barb directed at the king on occasion.

I would completely agree that Stewart is highly biased and broadcasting from a clearly well left of centre/liberal perspective.

BUT, I reckon he's done a decent job at times of highlighting things like the Jim Cramer/CNBC debacle:

What probably pisses me off the most is the Colbert Report being satire of conservatives, rather than a right of centre mirror of John Stewart's show, which in my opinion, would have provided both comedic and newsworthy balance.

It is a tragedy that so many are left with the option of seeking some genuine news from a comedian/court jester, than from traditional news outlets.

I think that's the signs and symptoms of a broken mass media news system.

Although it must be said that Stewart's own show and the chain of ownership goes straight to Viacom, one of the "Big Six".

While Stewart does speak the awkward truth on occasion, he's still part of the same Propaganda Inc. machine.

It's a shame about the retirement of Jay Leno.......I've heard that he was taking a slight right of centre approach to his monologues.....maybe he could produce a right of centre analog to Stewart.

I wonder if there's any right of centre versions of George Carlin working the standup comedy circuit?

I think that's the signs and symptoms of a broken mass media news system.Broken, or well-oiled & running fine, depends on your point of view.

Perfect example of the Maxim Effect.
