Well, it is the Winter Olympics.
Norway is on top right now with 5 medals
USA & Canada are tied at 3 & 3 but USA has 2 G & 1 B. Canada has 1 G, 1 S and 1 B.

A little satire
http://dailycurrant.com/2014/02/08/man-responsible-for-olympic-ring-mishap-found-dead-in-sochi/
The man responsible for operating the Olympic Rings during last night’s Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Russia was found dead today.
According to local reports the body of T. Borris Avdeyev was found his hotel room early this morning with multiple stab wounds.
Avdeyev was a technical specialist responsible for the Olympic Ring spectacle, which embarrassingly malfunctioned last night. Five animatronic snowflakes were supposed to transform into Olympic Rings. The first four functioned properly but the fifth snowflake failed to change shape.
Although his body was badly mangled and the wounds were consistent with a struggle, so far officials say they don't suspect foul play.
I enjoyed these photos floating around the twitter feed on #SochiFail. Russian police/military comedy. First, the guys getting ready for their shift with a basket full of vodka, and second, the guy 'inspecting' his firearm. Russia's finest, on the spot, ready for service! :D

SPOILER ALERT -
What an amazing shootout for TJ Oshie today as the USA beat Russia. After being tied following the initial 3 attempts, Oshie was the lone US player to continue in the shootout, finally winning in the 8th round. I would say he has ice water running through his veins, but the are a few guys here that make the insane routine - like jumping out of planes at night, ect. TJ seems to get it.

Just had good talk with America's newest hero. Only don't call T.J. Oshie that. "The American heroes are wearing camo. That's not me."

I got up early to watch the game, I was not disappointed with the game or the outcome!
Although he plays for St. Louis, this kid is 100% CLASS !!!! :lifter
After an epic game between the USA and Russia, with TJ Oshie scoring 4 goals out of six, TJ Oshie became a Hero of the Olympics
T.J. Oshie was hailed as an American hero Saturday after his four shootout goals powered the U.S. Olympic hockey team past Russia in the 2014 Winter Olympics. His Wikipedia bio was even changed— albeit briefly — to reflect this new title.
But, as the St. Louis Blues forward told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Dejan Kovacevic, Oshie does not view himself that way. To him, the nation’s real heroes have nothing to do with hockey.

Team USA, indeed.
NESN
I have watched TJ Oshie come up playing on the St Louis Blues. He is one of the stars on the team and has had some problems for being too much of a partier and missing some practices in the past. But I think he has finally come into his own and is taking his stardom better.
He has become a class act and this just makes me think much better of this young star.

Where the heck can you even find a 48 star American Flag anymore?
I believe the next game is against Canada 2:00PM Friday. Thats going to be a tough one team USA.

Yeah, only for the semis though. I'm a little disappointed. I wanted the Gold Medal game against them like in Vancouver. No Loonie buried in center ice for 'em this time.
USA woman's team is up against the Canadian team for the G.M. though today at 10am Mountain time.
THAT game should be a knock down, drag out brawl. Then there's the second period ....
Well, seeing that our ladies LOST to team Canada in the Gold Medal game, and our men's team is only playing team Canada for the RIGHTS to go to the Gold Medal game ..... I think we should up the stakes .....
I was really surprised the guys lost to Canada...and to Finland. Damn. :(
The Finns kicked our ass. If it was a fight it would have been stopped. Tukka Rask played great in goal, too.
Congrats to the winners and better luck next time to team USA - you played well but not good enough to medal. We got to watch some damn good hockey.
