NSA seeks to build quantum computer that could crack most types of encryption

Unless you are using a new encryption algorithm they already can with their current setup - mid range petflops super cluster and back doors.

You can run but you'll just die tired...add with extra eyes on ya too

P.s. wrote a program about three months ago that detects their footprint...it is a very big, diverse, and camo'd bunch

Details?

Some simple finite math and simple pattern matching...

Thing is I'd like to release the source code and/or the process but until it is ruled unconstitutional have no interest in helping murderers or hurting my country.

The meaning of the comments: If you use encryption you'll get their attention and they can uncode it either through assistance from companies (unwittingly or not like RSA Security) and other countries or through brute force. If I remember correctly the current NSA Super Cluster is at about 50-80 petaflops. There are thousands of companies plainly assisting in their collection above and beyond just turning over data (ie. seeking it out), they are also very skilled at hiding their origin and purpose.

Hope that helps any confusion.

PS: Have a Martini and hope the courts do the right thing.

Yes that why I say use a encryption service so you are always updated with the latest encryption. I say also look into TOR browser and VPN services.

Nice on the program, guess it's like the encryption water marker finder NSA was using.

Well you can just contract it out, just like others do. :p

But.....the FBI allegedly hacked TOR

Did hear about this, but I did hear that TOR "Properties" were changed do to this. All of the Encryption programs, software, services, etc change once they have been broken. That's why I say use a service over a program or software.

This is really noting new in this country. Hoover violated all kinds of rights and even spied on presidents and politicians to stay in power. What is new is the courts saying it is okay for the government to do this.

VERY GOOD POINT!! Seems many are taking his lessons learned and modernizing them. I say a lot that is going on in the last ten to twenty years is a doctrine, textbook UW OP PLAN on many different topics. Keeping to the same fundamental message, but changing over the years and taking into technology to spread it.
