IMHO, neither the Dems or the Repubs care a whit about an American life overseas whether civilian or military or government employee.

Please refer to H. Clinton who summed the above up nicely last year. "What difference does it make!"

We have no one in governmental power today who is, IMHO, sane. If we did we'd not be doing the same thing over and over again with the same and/or worsening results (the layman's definition of Insanity).

When I was deployed to Iraq both in uniform and later as a contractor I made it very clear to my translator, driver or anyone other than US/Coalition/Kurd what the penalty for percieved betrayal was going to be - it seemed to work.

To shed blood for a worthy cause and valient effort is noble.

To have blood shed for lost causes and ignoble motives / agendas is criminal.

One thing will be for sure in 2014. You best be watching you back and P's and Q's while you're out of the wire in Astan.

Q: What is one American life worth?
A: 51% of the voting populace

Americans don't deploy troops... the government does. If politicians think they can keep their voters, they will send every single one of us to our doom while they crunch numbers to see how to keep defense spending down so welfare entitlements wont suffer.
...if support fades, they will back peddle as fast as they can while they try to blame the opposition party for starting the conflict in the first place.
