The station found the city’s settlement of $23,500 with Sorensen through an open-records request, but Sorensen said a confidentiality clause precluded his further comment.

Not sure I would have signed it....It's obvious they did not want this publicized.
He's probably lucky he wasn't shot.

So, the officers guide 'cheat' sheet is wrong 10 years after the change in law? Damn.....

Bullshit. No excuse. It is your job as LE to keep up on the current laws. Granted it is hard to keep up on everything and sometimes you make a mistake but IMHO this guy knew what the law was and decided he would arrest the guy to make a statement and they could fight it out in court later. He was not counting on it becoming a civil case.+1 You should take it on a road show; first stop suggestion would be to conduct a seminar for the Milwaukee PD based on the last few years...

"If James would have resisted to the point of pulling his weapon on a police officer, there may have been a fatal mistake.”

The gun grabbers would have loved it had he pulled his weapon, it would give credence to their belief that none of us are responsible enough to be armed among the general public. This guy was no idiot.
