Vastly different reasons for each selection.

The only one that just makes me shake my head is M Cyrus.

I guess Rob Ford's shenanigans were a little too late to make the cutoff.... :D

While she shakes everything else:eek::D.

I concur with the thought of Mandela, he has never been named. Putin made it in '04, Current POTUS '08 & 12, Whistleblowers (Snowden) '02.

I know, right? MiCy- but not LiLo or GaGa.

Surely woulda thought Tebow or that sissy that got bullied in the NFL, or the guy that bullied him would have made it.

Or Coach Biliema.

What? No George Zimmerman? No Paris Hilton? Fidel Castro? Hugo Chavez? Pol pot? Mao? That N. Korean fella?

I didn't bring up GZ because I think he's bad, rather because the powers that be do.

Relax.

People have misunderstood since 1938 that Time's Person of the Year is not for the best man of the year, but rather the person that "for better or for worse, ...has done the most to influence the events of the year."

Looks as if Time has picked Pope Francis as their "Person of the Year."

You know, I was strolling down the Champs Elysees with Pope Frank right before Thanksgiving this year, and I overheard some chick ask another young lady, "Who's that walking with Dusty? Looks familiar..."

Well, The Times has made odd choices from time to time_

1938 Adolph Hitler

1939 and 1942 Joseph Stalin

My nomination for person of the year would have been Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Do dead ambassadors count?

Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pontiff who won hearts and headlines with his humility and common touch, was named Time magazine's Person of the Year for 2013, the magazine revealed Wednesday on TODAY.
