The bastards welded the barrel shut right at the muzzle brake! Don't trust vets I reckon. We're all mentally ill ya know.

Keeps foreign objects, rainwater, critters, etc. from rusting the bore and breechblock out.
Looks to me like they welded the hatches shut as well.
