If the rules say "must be in attendance at the game" it seems pretty cut and dried.

I agree, but I'm willing to bet that had the winner been someone living at around the poverty level and happened to be a minority (or better yet, an "undocumented immigrant"), the school would have waived all the rules and given them the money.

Fixed it for ya.

The headline is beyond misleading, I think we can all appreciate his sacrifice but if you have to be present to win then you have to be present. FOX News was wrong in how this was initially represented.

Pshaw! Fox New? Wrong?

What are you trying to say? Something snide?

Is that font supposed to be pink?

Pshaw! Fox New? Wrong?

Title "Iraq War veteran denied university's lottery win, so rival school pays up"

From the article..

"...New Mexico State University reportedly holds the drawings during home games as part of a “fan incentive program” to encourage attendance by students.

...

However, the station reports school officials deemed Zajac ineligible for the prize because he was not in attendance at the game..."

So explain to me what was wrong in the article?

I agree...This seems like a win-win-win-win to me.

Your point is well taken, my point is how can he be denied that which he was not eligible to win in the first place?

Apparently, I have horrible color differentiation, especially in the hue of pink.

Agreed, I'm glad the man was given $2,000. Also, I'm impressed that he gave half of the reward to a worthy charity. Heck yeah!

My response was to the previous comment charging the article with being misleading, and FOX News isn't frequently heralded for accuracy in reporting. They're certainly not as bad as MSNBC, but FOX News is most definitely driven by political agenda to a fault.

Of course they're driven by a political agenda. The correct one.

I completely disagree.

Do you know who owns Fox and what their political leaniongs are?

I find them somewhat left of center for my liking, but at least they present both sides of an issue. The rest of the MSM doesn't even make an effort.
