Apologies for the late response, as I stated above I will accept your wager.

I have two bottles in mind.
The first would be a bottle of Maker's Mark 46.
The second bottle I thought of would be a local brand, that I hear is fairly good.
It's Breckenridge bourbon.
Here's their link ..... http://breckenridgedistillery.com/

So the wager is ... You say my AVS won't make the playoffs, I say they will.

Who'd have guessed this? Going from the second to last place team in the whole NHL to one of the best records and taking the Central Division and having home ice throughout the playoffs, my AVS are BACK.

I was hoping my AVS would just make it into the playoffs, via a wild card spot, but to take the division and having one of the top records within the whole league, in only one year ...... amazing.

So with that being said ......

ETA: Boston Bruins - Presidents' Trophy 2013-14...a good start.

With respect to the President’s Trophy, I wouldn’t give it too much weight. I remember sitting in some bar in rural Pennsylvania for the first game of the 1994/95 Stanley Cup Finals only to watch the Devils school the Wings in the use of the neutral zone trap. Game winning goal was delivered by none other than Claude Lemieux - something I’d been able to forget about that crushing defeat until I googled the game.

Caretaker, PT...it's a good start.

Ask the Hawks about the PT last year...

But, as I say...it's just a start.

ETA: the PT is worth approximately $350 grand for the winning team...that's a good start to the playoff beer kitty.

They are struggling and playing a bit dirty....and now have lost Seabrook for 3 games....Will they recover?

LINK (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/rosenblog/chi-blackhawks-dirty-and-stupid-in-loss-to-blues-20140419,0,7395850.column)

Heartless, dirty and stupid will get you beat.

Just ask the Blackhawks.

It’s as if the Hawks were begging to blow Game 2 of the playoff series against the Blues, and St. Louis accommodated.

The Hawks were heartless early, and they were dirty and stupid late, choking away another third-period lead and losing another game in overtime.

Frankly, they deserved it. They deserved to lose a game in which they looked like amateurs a majority of the time.

It was enough to make you grab your crotch in disgust.

The Hawks came out reluctant to go to the tough areas and they weren’t wild about defending those spots, either. If they didn’t lose every battle for loose pucks, then they were losing the important ones.

This was how a defending champion responds to a triple-overtime loss?

That was a heck of a series between the Wild and the Avs. I suspect it will grow the rivalry between the clubs. I was very impressed that the Wild was able to answer after falling behind 4 times in a game - then eventually get the go-ahead goal when it counted.

Bring on the defending champs!

I hear you brother. That was such a rookie style play to allow the Wild a 2 on 1 by the AVS. Well their a young team and will be back here again next year.

Patrick needs to work on Varlamov weak side. 3 out of the 4 points were from the same general area of play.

Great season Colorado Avalanche! !! THANKS

Dude, I'm still NUMB.

But you are correct, they are a young team and WILL be back in the playoffs next year.

To go from the second to last place team in the entire NHL last year, to not only making the playoffs but actually wining their division this year they have a lot to be proud of.

I have a feeling that Pat and Varly will be working a lot together during the off season, between rounds of golf, and I'm sure we'll see an even more impressive showing from Varly next year.

I think we may have found our new rivals in the Wild. The rivalry that we had with the Red Wings (suck). The last time the AVS and Wild faced each other in a game 7 during the playoffs, Saint Patrick was between the pipes and the Wild won in OT, which turned out to be Pat's last game as a player. Last night's game just wasn't about advancing in the playoffs, it was more for vengeance. Well, that didn't turn out the way we wanted, but that vengeance will be OURS !!!!

At least I've got a bottle out of it, to help drown my sorrows while watching the rest of this season. I'm even going to say something I can't believe I'm going to say but .... GO KINGS !!!!! ...... (just because I HATE the Ducks as much as I dislike the Red Wings (suck) )

So Kings and Chicago for the Finals in the West with the .... sigh .... Hawks going on to the Cup finals.

With all that being said, I have only one more thing to say ..... CRAP !!!!

RL: On another thread you asked which bar?

Normally, if you are ever down my way I would recommend a locals joint on the Hermosa and Manhattan line called The North End.

It has a good age range ( I am usually not the oldest person there)
Doesn't turn into a sausage festival during the games
Bonus: A couple of the Kings players can be spotted there upon occasion.

However: This series the pier is also fun because there is a Chicago backers bar there that blasts that mo%^er f%#k*ng song across the pier every time those slow transition skaters get lucky enough to score. It's one of those songs that sticks to you like gum to your shoe on a hot day. :D

The consternation it causes with the Kings fans is worth watching.
