<snip>“He [the Raptor pilot] flew under their {Iranian Pasdaran} aircraft [the F-4s] to check out their weapons load without them knowing that he was there, and then pulled up on their left wing and then called them and said ‘you really ought to go home’”<snip>

Didn't think anyone was still flying F-4s. I bet that Iranian pilot soiled his laundry when that Raptor appeared out of nowhere. :D :p
That we still make the best fighter aircraft in the world makes me proud to be an American.

I read somewhere about the F-22's being tested against F-15's. The F-15 pilots said they go up, they get shot down. They go up again, they get shot down again and again...

Yep, but the few F-22s we own have a limited number of missiles on board, not to mention fuel.
You let someone take out the closest bases, and get through to our tankers, several countries posess enough aircraft to take that first punch, and keep coming. Then what do we do?
As we used to say about the Soviets, quantity has a quality all its own.

That reminds me of another incident that purportedly happened over the international waters off Iran. A USMC pilot was patrolling and received a warning: "Unidentified aircraft, you are entering Iranian airspace, turn back" USMC pilot: "This is a USMC fighter and we are in international airspace." Iranian: "You have entered Iranian airspace. Turn back. We have scrambled our fighters to intercept you. Turn back now this is your last warning." USMC pilot: "Send 'em up, I'll wait!"
