Yeah, but their reasons for quitting? They wanted a single payer, national healthcare system vs. Obamacare and they wanted immigration reform to "go further". So, to them, Obama didn't go far enough.
"Unionized workers now account for only 11.3 percent of the US workforce." ??
This agrees with wikipedia,, BUT I honesty thought the number was closer to 20%..
11% is about 34.5 million people,, That is little more than the 15-20 million estimated illegal aliens..

I still give it a thumbs up.. not because I agree with the ILWU's view on much of anything... let alone immigration reform and single payer healthcare. Rather, because it's another example of a group of individuals recognizing that the ACA.. is a piece of crap legislation that fails at almost every level. Sorry to hear they don't get to keep their Cadillac healthcare plans and will be taxed....
That's what they get for blindly throwing their support behind a piece of legislation that they had NO idea what it stated, let alone give thought to the far reaching impact...
What about Government unions?
They can live with the same plan as all the rest of us are going to have to live with. NO EFFIN EXEMPTIONS for anyone in government. For the record here is how I feel about unions, if you want to belong to one fine but if you do not want to belong to one you should not be forced to.

Population = 310m+
Work Force is only = 155m
So we're looking at 17m unionized.

What about Government unions?Fed gov unions are largely powerless shells which the "employer" patronizes.
Rank & file employees have been paying for their healthcare, through a variety of plans, for a very long time. They are not on some "special" system the way congresscritters are. Apples & oranges.
