Re-doing the shed and put everthing back in. At least I have easy access to the X-Mas things now.

I don't have that big of a display but I do run a 50' extension cord to my asshole neighbors house to power it. :D

Just got 300 shares Central Florida Power & Light - short term - until 9 Jan. (Unless you think you'll leave them up longer?) That is a very impressive display.

I love Christmas. If only it weren't so warm here this time of year. My 2nd Christmas with my wife was very warm, and, as a tongue-in-cheek poke at the weather, I stayed up all night in mid-December and decorated our living room as a cantina. Being hispanic, my wife did of course love it. :)

While going through bins last night doing inventory I found another 40 strands of lights that I'd never used before. Also just got home from Walmart and Target with new additions. I'll be taking movies of this display.

I did a check on power usage this morning. In outside lights alone I'll be using a little over 1800 watts. The xmas tree in my livingroom uses 43 watts. Still have 2 other trees to set up.

Get your Progress Energy stock soon, I'm turning it on Friday night.

I just did a check on the power usage out front. When powered up I'll be using 2472 watts at 15.6 amps.

My house is a lethal Christmas taser.

With a beacon like that you will probably attract all sorts of folks. Keep you eye out for three folks wearing khafirs, riding camels, and claiming to be looking for the baby "Heysues". They are probably boat people or folks from that aviation school down there trying to perfect their cover.

I just got the call from my dad to block off the Sunday after Turkey Day to help him put up the lights

He swears like a cross between the dad from A Christmas Story and Fred Flinstone ( you know he's swearing but it sounds like odd sounds and mumbles) when things blow out or don't light up, but smiles like Clark Griswald when it all comes together

I don't know about you all but finally being "big" enough to help out with the lights was the coolest thing when I was a kid and I'm sure glad he called me to help

I just had a thought. Since this is light and information is transmitted over light, couldn't this be construed as "making commo"?

Only if the blinkers are setup correctly for dashes and dots.

Now that Thanksgiving is over . . .

First attempt at a photo of the show. Usually takes a while to get the exposer set right. It's hard to get the focus righ twith contrasting colors.

Eventhough it is a warm 18 degrees this morning, when I clicked on that picture just the heat coming off those lights made the thermostat click off on the wall behind me. :)

Looks awesome! I love driving around to look at Christmas decorations. We have some neighborhoods where all the neighbors collaborate, all the houses are decked out. It is a real "wonderland".

The only thing I'm lacking is power. If I had it I would. Need a new breaker box.

My god, can't we get through Thanksgiving first? :DSome people go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We put up the Christmas lights. :D The builder thought we were nuts to install a dedicated outlet on the roof of the front porch with a switch in the coat closet.

Sure makes it easier to turn the Christmas lights on and off...

Time for the annual checking of the outside lights.

The pic of your house lit up looks great! It's definately the kind I'd take my small child by when out looking at Christmas lights.

The ones in the driveway - Those pictures crack me up. Probably laughing with relief that it's you and not me putting them then taking them down again.

Kyobanim:

I appreciate folks who go out of their way to make this time of year a little brighter, thank you.

I have never put out lights, it would be difficult with multiple homes, and we seldom know where we will be over Christmas.

The 3d tree has all the ornaments that we make on it.

Nice!

So if the dog gets old and doesn't move much he is a likely candidate to be decorated?? :D

Great looking trees. That is the one thing I am going to miss this year. No way for me to go out and cut a tree. However, the one I had my eye on will be just that much bigger next year. Think I'll celebrate vicariously with yours.

That's one of the things I miss about living in Colorado Springs. Driving into the "hills" and finding a tree. Traditions at christmas are the best.
