Hi,

I am looking for a complete and working Collins TD-1 Tape Dipole Antenna. If you know of one for sale please let me know. I'm also looking for pictures of the Collins TD-1 and 637-T1/2 in use. Any information you can provide would be helpful.

Glen:

Not to be rude, but I don't see an introduction or much of a profile, and here you are, with your first two posts, asking people to give you something.

How about we get to know you a little bit first?

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I was looking for a TD-1 that is for sale. I'm not asking for someone to give me one. I guess a non working example would be OK for display, but I like using my stuff. That is why I was looking for a complete and working example. In my other post asking for pictures I should have stated that scanned pictures would be fine. I do not expect anyone to pull a picture from their personal album and mail it to me. Sorry again, I should have explained myself better. I have the reprinted issues of Green Beret magazine that show some of the Collins gear in the background but I was trying to find some better pictures for my display.

The reason I'm looking for the Collins items is I picked up my first Collins rigs at hamfest in Orlando back in February and now I have been bitten by the Collins bug. Having purchased a KWM-2A with PM-2 power supply, 312B-5 Station controller and both the CC-2 and CC-3 luggage cases, I just need the TD-1 to complete the my portable station.

Basically I have always been interested in military history and equipment. Over the years I have been able to collect a few military jeeps, a couple of classic firearms, and some radio gear. The Collins gear is just the next step. There is a book in the Osprey series, I think the title is Guerrilla Forces in SEA or something like that. Anyway Ken Conboy is the author and in his book there is a picture of I think 3 or 4 HT-1 Village handheld radios that were used by the Hmong. That is my picture and those are my radios. Most of the older radios you guys talk about I have, some of which are still operational. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Thanks,
