"GLENDALE— Saturday, June 29th, Free Colorado, a non-profit organization advocating for the rights of gun owners, will host “A Farewell to Arms” Freedom Festival. This event marks Coloradan’s last chance to celebrate the ability to own standard capacity magazines prior to new Colorado laws taking effect on July 1st.
The first 1500 attendees through the gate over the age of 18 will receive a free Magpul Gen M2 MOE 30rd magazine featuring either the Free Colorado or Boulder Airlift design, courtesy of Magpul Industries Corp. Tickets for attendees and magazines can be pre-purchased online at www.freecolorado.net.
Got there about an hour and a half before the gates opened and there was already a line about a 1/4 mile long. They opened the gates about 15 minutes before the scheduled time, apparently the line was so long by this point, it was becoming a traffic hazard.
Went through the check in line and was handed a receipt for the free mag. They wouldn't be handing them out until 5pm. The helo came in a little after 5pm and circled the park several times. We were speculating if they were going to replay the scene from WKRP in Cincinnati with the mags .... "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." ... but they didn't. The helo just landed at a field above where we were and Dana Loesch was on board and was keynote speaker. Once the helo landed, then they started handing out mags.
It's been reported that some 5000 people showed up.

Hasn't updated their site yet. They still have the story from yesterday, just announcing the event. I was able to catch their 10pm broadcast, and as I expected from this station, it was very "left-ward" leaning. Once they update their site (if they do), I'll upload their story.
Lots of family's w young children, fair amount of youth, and probably 30-40% women. Saw some familiar faces and some old friends from 5/19th. Both are 70 and still going strong.

Colorado’s Paul “Buddy System” Rosenthal Runs From Constituents At Magpul Event
Yesterday at the Farewell To Arms event I met the man I criticized afar for his political sell-out of Coloradans’s Second Amendment Rights — and criticized the day of the event via Twitter.
“Paul Rosenthal is here. He’s at the bar,” I was told by an attendee as I shook hands and talked to angry residents. Rosenthal was, in fact, at the bar, invited by libertarian Glendale Mayor Mike Dunafon. Rosenthal was flustered and talking for a grassroots group out of Pueblo bent on recalls.
He stood with his hands at his sides, a gift bag full of fine Colorado products from Magpul including stickers and one 30 round standard capacity magazine.
“You’re that girl who Tweeted at me today,” he said, pointing at me.
