What the hell have Dempsey and Odierno done to our Army?In my view it started quite awhile ago; they are just the latest tools (both figuratively & literally). They are more interested in spotlighting their corporate expertise than being known for achieving military victory and have built themselves buffers to cover failure in the latter endeavor. The notion that the "business" of the Army must be approached as if it were a profit-center, versus a cost-center, is in many ways completely counter to the mission. America needs to have some leadership who will step-up and say,
"Look; we're not going to create a bunch of feel-good programs & matrices to show you how we can duplicate the original Lockheed Zero-Defects program, or do Total Quality, or conduct Productivity Improvement seminars. That wastes billions. Here is what it costs, in financial & human terms, to maintain the premier warrior force on the planet in order to exercise the Nation's foreign policy goals at the tip of the spear. Either pony-up, or amend your expectations."
In the current environment, such character is rewarded by being told their services are no longer needed.

There were more than a few times my E-5 pay didn't last two weeks, for lecherous reasons. :)

Master Sgt. Brad Grimes was charged in military court Wednesday with patronizing a prostitute, conspiring with another soldier to patronize a prostitute, committing adultery and solicitation to commit adultery, according to Fort Hood officials. The woman soldier allegedly involved in the prostitution has not been charged.
