This love is terrifying.
Thousands of American teen girls are crushing on Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 — and leading a social-media movement to exonerate him.
The swooning teens will not accept allegations that the college kid — whom they refer to by his nickname, “Jahar” — and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, killed three and maimed hundreds by setting off bombs at the April 15 race.
While some scrawl the hashtag “#FreeJahar” on their hands with markers, an 18-year-old in Topeka, Kan., is going to the extreme — she wants Dzhokhar’s words inked on her arm forever.
LADYKILLER:Alisha (above), one of a legion of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev fans, has tweeted her plan to tattoo his words on her arm. Others have set up blogs, like this Tumblr tribute.
“Getting one of Jahar’s tweets tattooed on me tomorrow. Guess you could say I’m a #FreeJahar supporter,” “@keepitbluntedd” tweeted on May 7.
The tatted-up teen, Alisha, told The Post she’d soon put Tsarnaev’s April 7 tweet on her upper arm. It will read, “If you have the knowledge and the inspiration, all that’s left is to take action.”

It's comforting to know that this same 18 year old will be voting in our elections.
Look at how kids are educated.
No surprise to me.

Think we can make some money for the GBF??
This is sickening! They should have just shot the SOB between the eyes as he emerged from the boat! (Couldn't do it. Too many witnesses.) No, now we're going to have an insane dog-and-pony show, complete with teenage idiots swooning over this scumbag.
Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life down here!

Given the intelligence level I have seen from the a good portion of the younger generations, I'd be surprised if this didn't happen.
Remember, they are taught that everything is always someone else's fault, and they should bear no responsibility or consequences for their actions. Therefore, in younger generation mindset, "He might have done it, but someone else taught him to do it and his older brother corrupted him and the FBI and police should have stopped him, so he can't be blamed for the bombings and should be set free." We won't even get into the whole "American imperialism, blame Muslims first" arguments I am sure are going to come out.
They should have just shot the SOB between the eyes as he emerged from the boat! (Couldn't do it. Too many witnesses.) The United States, AND its Constitution DOES have its enemies; and some of those enemies are those that have benefited the most from this country and its opportunities. Ah, irony.
Young ladies seem to have a switch somewhere in their brains that flips around 14/15. It flips back around 22/23 and they seem to have a faulty memory of what they did during those years.
"Noooooo, I would never do anything like that."

Exactly.
Are we forgetting Che ? Many college kiddies think he's great, wear tee-shirts with his picture all the time. They are clueless that Che murdered families women and children......
I guess convicted felons teaching as "professors" at their "universities" is a great idea..... :munchin
Quote: "Ah, irony."
True enough. Those were my personal thoughts on the matter. I know that a uniformed professional could not react that way. However, accomplice to murder, mayhem and the assassination of an M.I.T. police officer, not to mention throwing IEDs at pursuing police officers does put this guy somewhat out of the range of your typical criminal on "the street".
This is not new, what about Ted Bundy or the Menendez brothers etc. etc. Gary Hart, Bill Clinton, John Edwards.........................
Quote: "We're in a fight for our principles, and our first responsibility is to live by them. No one should be singled out for unfair treatment or unkind words because of their ethnic background or religious faith."
George W. Bush, address to a joint session of Congress, 20 September 2001.
I wish he had made that very clear to the Islamists throughout the world. Oh, that's right, his idea was to "... make the world safe for democracy." Not that that particular mandate was ever a part of our Constitution; but I would like to ask Georgie boy: "How's that working out for you?"

I've been face to face with these fools on the protest/riot line. I completely agree that it begins in the schools. Professors and the like take extreme and abstract behavior, explain it, then rationalize it. They typically ignore the facts that do not fit their narratives, or explain fatalities as collateral for a just cause. Even when faced with reality, the truth is a mirage of "The Man".
Many of us on "the line" asked ourselves, where are the parents? Spare the rod......
Many just needed a intro to reality upside the head. First thought that comes to mind when seeing a Che shirt is: Front sight.
If this reads like a rant, my apologies.

Yep - and it flips back for most boys somewhere between 23-27.

Clueless is the point. These girls will probably be too busy tweeting to remember to register, too confused about where to register or too bored standing in line to vote. At least that is my sincere hope. Every opportunity in the world and these girls squander it without an actual thought.
The Che thing is different in my reasoning, although also clueless. It is probably more of an "anti-establishment" fashion statement than a political one. There must be a poll somewhere that shows that a majority of the kids wearing the shirt could not name who is on it or what he did, but they think it makes them edgy and cool.
This strange behavior to become a groupie for a terrorist is not only found with teenage girls but also adult women who fall for convicted murderers. As mentioned in some earlier posts in this string, serial killers end up with fans. Is there some common element in them just missing or is is something in their upbringing? If anyone here studied psychology or psychiatry, I would be interested in a theory. Right now, I am stuck at just plain stupid.

Not that that particular mandate was ever a part of our Constitution; but I would like to ask Georgie boy: "How's that working out for you?"There are a number of threads, some dating back to 2004, that discuss the attitudes of civilians and LEOs IRT GWOT. At least two threads focus specifically on the Boston Marathon bombings. Within those threads numerous posts raise questions about the ways LEAs responded to the crisis and the potential long term consequences (unintended and other) on the civil liberties of all Americans. IMO, your venting suggests that you are either unfamiliar with these conversations or that you do not take the expressed POVs seriously.
In other threads centering around the U.S. Constitution an idea has been kicked around that taking an a la carte approach to the Bill of Rights helps to enable a political culture in which various groups think it is all right to limit / take away basic rights from some Americans. Regardless of one's position on that argument, I am of the viewpoint if one is going to lambaste others for not respecting the Constitution then one should not be so quick to advocate violating the rights of others, as despicable as they may be.
Penultimately, a casual use of the search button will take one to any of the numerous discussions about Bush the Younger's grand strategy for GWOT, its antecedents--including Wilsonian globalism--and its strengths and its weaknesses IRT radical Islam. Were you to spend time reading any of these threads you might find that George W. Bush is respected by many members of PS.COM--even those who took exception with many of his policy preferences.
Finally, your musings about America's public diplomacy efforts IRT the Muslim world during Bush the Younger's presidency highlight a growing trend among back benchers at PS.COM. This trend sees newer members asking questions yet making no serious effort to find answers for themselves by using either the search button or Google. There may very well be some bad parenting involved with some of these idiots but I would be the last to paint all their parents with such a broad brush. I speak from experience when I say that I have a daughter that for whatever reason is so politically to the left of me that it is unfathomable. You can try to instill values in your children but that is where it ends. At some point they are on their own, no guarentees as to how they will turn out.
I am sure that many of these idiots parents are shaking their collective heads wondering where they went wrong, I'm just saying maybe they didn't. As a parent all one can do is try.

It is unfortunate that you have read my post as a blanket statement for all parents, as that was not my intention. I am just outraged after reading the original story posted by JJ, as it is so disgusting, callous, and to me represents a true decline in parental responsibility of these girls.
To put things in proper perspective, I did a google search of Boston Marathon Survivors, and came back with so many links to so many stories, and this is just one of them::(
http://news.yahoo.com/marathon-bombing-survivor-wants-others-remembered-063342868.html
BOSTON (AP) — The image showed James "Bim" Costello staggering away from the Boston Marathon bombing, his jeans shredded and blackened, his body so burned that he was left needing pig skin grafts on most of his right arm and right leg.
Costello had plucked two rusty roofing nails from his stomach and was trying to walk toward any help he could find following the explosions, his ears ringing, his body pebbled with shrapnel, and his mind reeling from the thought moments earlier that he might be dying.
Kenshin Okubo, a photographer for Boston University newspaper The Daily Free Press, captured the photo of Costello in the immediate aftermath of the April 15 terrorist attack that killed three people and injured more than 260 others. The Associated Press got permission to use the image and distributed it globally.
Since that day, the 30-year-old bombing victim has heard from many people who want to know if he is the unidentified survivor in that photo.
A month later, Costello said he's ready to share his story because he fears people are starting to forget the plight of victims who suffered life-altering injuries he calls much worse than his own.
"I guess what I want to say is, 'Don't forget about the people that are seriously hurt and the people that died,'" Costello said Friday in an exclusive interview with The Associated Press.
"Don't worry about me," he said. "I'm good ... I'll just be here to support my friends."
Costello said he had been going to watch the marathon for about a decade. This year, he was gathered with friends near the finish line and watching for another friend who was running when the bombs went off.
Three of Costello's friends lost a leg, including brothers Paul Norden, 31, and J.P. Norden, 33. Other friends suffered serious burns and shrapnel injuries after the second bomb exploded outside Forum restaurant on Boylston Street.
Costello spent about two weeks at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries and was among patients who met President Barack Obama. He returned home for the first time Saturday after nearly two weeks of in-patient therapy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Malden, Mass., resident still has one BB embedded under the skin on his right knee, a couple more in his right calf, and another by his belly button.
What he believes are metal shavings of bomb debris are still working their way out of skin on his right arm. It hurts when Costello stands still for too long, so he steps from side to side, dancing to ward off pain as blood pools in his injured leg.
The Harvard University campus services employee doesn't think about the two bombing suspects much, or the possibility that he could have crossed paths with surviving bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old who had worked as a Harvard lifeguard.
But Costello is bothered by the idea that he and Tsarnaev were part of the same community.
Che was directly responsible for the murder of thousands of Cubans. Notice I said "Murder".
And I would have better sense than to wear his face on my clothing. But the average teen wearing the Che Guevara t-shirt does not likely research his full history.
At best, when asked (and yes, sometimes I am just offended and irritated enough to walk up and ask) they either think it "is fun because he was a Marxist" (no, I do not know when Marxism became fun) or quote loftily that he is the "symbol of rebellion."
Che is dead. Marxism may be in its death throes. Certainly in its original form, it is marginalized. It is a long ugly chapter in history that has included terrorism, deadly purges, lethal prison camps, murderous forced labor, fatal deportations, man-made famines, extrajudicial executions, outright mass murder and genocide. Marxist regimes murdered nearly 110 million people from 1917 to 1987.
The teens who wear those t-shirts idealize counter-culture. They do not stop and think of the results of Marxism. And usually they outgrow that naiveté. But the girls and women who follow and write to serial killers and "cute" terrorists have a life long flaw. That is the one that has my curiosity. That one, I can't even begin to fathom.

When these idiots tell you that Che is the "symbol of rebellion", you might want to remind them that the original "symbol of rebellion" was Lucifer. I'd be careful about lionizing and/or emulating him.
Just a thought...

Some people don't see a problem in emulating Lucifer:

There has to be a professional name for this syndrome as it's been around forever.

Rather than showing that POS on RS looking like a rock star, this would have been better. (Thanks to Mass. State Police Sgt. Sean Murphy for the photo - despite all the hell he is going to have to go through from his "superiors" for doing so.) I think the laser sight on the forehead is a nice touch.

But I'll defer to the more learned members of the board.
Would a sniper, or anyone else with a laser on their weapon(s), do that? I would think if there were any "dot" it would show up center mass.

Free press - controversy sells. I read the article, think the picture is appropriately aligned with its questioning theme and how he was viewed by those who knew him, don't find it offensive, and don't see the controversy.

Agree.
I've always had this idea that some women (for reasons unknown to me) are atracted to bad boys. Timothy McVeigh received tons of mail and even a few marriage proposals from women after his conviction. Charles Manson, Tex Watson, Bobby Beausoleil got a lot of attention after they were convicted with the two latter members becoming married after they were incarcerated. I guess notoriety makes a man desirable or sexy to some women.

Made me curious, and had to look it up. LO and behold, it does have a name--hybristophylia -- is a paraphilia of the predatory type in which sexual arousal, facilitation, and attainment of orgasm are responsive to and contingent upon being with a partner known to have committed an outrage, cheating, lying, known infidelities or crime, such as rape, murder, or armed robbery
I thought it had to do with self-esteem issues, as well, and that maybe these women think that only they see the "goodness" in these sickos, and believe that they are the only ones who can "fix" whatever made these sickos do what they did.
They also, supposedly, don't have to worry about these men cheating on them and always know where they are. She can say that someone loves her, AND she doesn't have to put up with the day-to-day stuff, like doing his laundry. Not sarcastically, but seriously, I think these women really do think like that.
